What to do after gas poisoning

What to do after gas poisoning

If poisoning occurs while using gas, it is actually very harmful to your health. If not treated in time, it may even pose a certain threat to your life. If someone is found to be suffering from gas poisoning, the doors and windows should be opened in time and the patient should be allowed to leave to relieve the poisoning.

1. What to do after gas poisoning

1. Quickly open doors and windows, let the patient leave the poisoning environment, place him in a well-ventilated place, loosen his belt, keep his airway open to facilitate inhalation of fresh air, and provide oxygen if conditions permit. For patients with mild poisoning, symptoms disappear quickly and they can fully recover within a few hours or 1-2 days.

2. If the patient becomes unconscious or even comatose, in addition to maintaining good ventilation, quickly perform artificial respiration and external chest massage, and send the patient to the hospital for treatment in time.

2. Measures to prevent gas poisoning

1. Strengthen publicity and education for workers. The project department should publicize knowledge on preventing gas poisoning to workers through night schools for migrant workers, safety activities, and publicity measures such as bulletin boards, so as to improve workers' self-prevention awareness and enhance their self-protection ability.

2. It is strictly forbidden to use coal, gas or oil stoves for heating in the dormitory. Always keep the room well ventilated, especially in winter and when the air pressure is low due to rain.

3. The project safety officer is responsible for organizing and implementing the weekly cleaning of the canteen and bathroom stoves to ensure that the stoves have unobstructed exhaust. Pay attention to check whether the rubber hoses connected to the gas appliances are loose, aged, cracked, or bitten by insects, and whether there are any abnormalities in the switches. At the same time, the project department assigns special personnel to manage the stoves. The stoves should be placed on non-combustible materials, and no flammable items should be placed around them to ensure the cleanliness and fire safety around the stoves.

4. In case of heavy fog or other low-pressure weather, ensure that each room is well ventilated and pay attention to the fire situation at all times.

5. Do not sleep in a car with doors and windows closed and the air conditioner on to avoid large amounts of carbon monoxide exhaust fumes entering the car and causing poisoning.
