What is a pre-pregnancy antibody test

Pre-pregnancy check-up is a very important matter. For those who want to get pregnant, they should actively undergo pre-pregnancy check-up to prepare for the birth of a healthy fetus. There are many pre-pregnancy check-ups, among which antibody testing is an item that cannot be ignored, because antibodies play an extremely important role in whether a healthy fetus can be conceived. Let’s take a look at what the pre-pregnancy antibody test is.

Pre-pregnancy check-ups mainly assess whether the mother's health is suitable for pregnancy and whether there are any conditions that are not suitable for pregnancy. If you want to understand your fertility, you can do six hormone tests. But fertility ultimately has to be proven by pregnancy testing.

Is there an antibody test in the pre-pregnancy checkup?

The five immune items include IgM, IgG, IgA, C3/C4, which are mainly used to check immune diseases, including rheumatism, nephrotic syndrome, etc. The normal value of serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) is 6-16g/L. Increased: chronic liver disease, connective tissue disease, etc.; decreased: protein-losing enteropathy, nephrotic syndrome, mixed immunodeficiency syndrome, hereditary or acquired antibody deficiency, etc.

The normal value of serum immunoglobulin A (IgA) is 760-3900 mg/L. Increased levels may occur in chronic liver disease, subacute or acute infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, etc.; decreased levels may occur in recurrent respiratory tract infections, nephrotic syndrome, autoimmune diseases, immunosuppressant therapy, or late pregnancy, etc.

The normal value of serum immunoglobulin M (IgM) is 400-3450 mg/L. Increased levels may cause hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue diseases, chronic or subacute infections, etc.; decreased levels may cause protein-losing gastroenteritis, mixed immunodeficiency syndrome, hereditary or acquired antibody deficiency.

The normal value of serum immunoglobulin D (IgD) is 1-4 mg/L. Increased levels may cause chronic infection, connective tissue disease, certain liver diseases, staphylococcal infection, etc.; decreased levels may cause hereditary or acquired IgD deficiency syndrome, severe combined immunodeficiency, etc. The normal value of serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) is 0.1-0.9 mg/L. Increased levels may cause certain allergic diseases (such as serum sickness, allergic subsepsis, etc.), asthma, parasitic infection, T cell dysfunction, acute hepatitis, cirrhosis, rheumatoid arthritis, pediatric diarrhea, etc.; decreased levels may cause combined immunodeficiency disease, agammaglobulinemia, etc.
