What does a cyst in the right lobe of the liver mean

The liver is an important tissue in our human body. It affects the health of our body, but it can also have some problems. For example, the right lobe cyst of the liver means swelling on the right side of the liver, which looks different from normal. However, many people still don’t know its specific meaning or have never understood it. So what does the right lobe cyst of the liver mean?

Most liver cysts are caused by congenital abnormalities in the development of the bile duct system in the liver, and those without symptoms generally do not require treatment. If you don't have any pain or other discomfort, then you don't need treatment. If the cyst becomes progressively larger or causes pain, it can be surgically removed. You should lead a regular life, avoid strenuous exercise, eat a light diet, and don't smoke or drink.

In this case, there is a small cyst in the right lobe of the liver, which means there is a cyst on the right side of the liver, and the cyst is relatively small. The liver is divided into two lobes, the left and right lobes, with most of them located in the right lobe. The cause of small cysts is still unclear. With the increase in ultrasound examinations, more and more liver cysts have been found. Small cysts do not require special treatment. You should not go to many doctors because of a small cyst. Just treat it as normal and don't let it affect your mood.

All cystic lesions on the liver are collectively called hepatic cysts. Due to different causes of formation, it can be divided into congenital liver cysts, traumatic liver cysts, inflammatory liver cysts, tumor liver cysts, and parasitic liver cysts. More than 90% of the cysts we usually refer to are congenital liver cysts (also called true cysts). Congenital cyst is a kind of embryonic development disorder and a benign, congenital disease. It usually starts to grow in adulthood or old age. Small cysts do not require treatment, but when the cyst reaches a diameter of more than 10 cm, compression symptoms may occur and treatment is required.

You can go to the hospital to have a blood test to check your liver function. If your liver function is normal and you have no other special discomfort, you can follow up with an abdominal color ultrasound. Usually the diet is light.
