What is the reaction after taking ascarid medicine

Anti-worm medicine is specifically used to treat roundworms in the human stomach. Roundworms can cause a lot of harm to the human body, so it is necessary to take anti-worm medicine to eliminate them. People will have a series of reactions after taking anti-worm medicine, such as abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue and other symptoms. These are all manifestations of the roundworms being eliminated, so there is no need to panic too much if these reactions occur. So what happens after taking the anti-worm medicine?

Some people will have roundworms in their stomachs. Roundworms will make people's stomachs feel very uncomfortable and affect normal digestion and absorption. If the roundworms are not controlled and allowed to grow rampantly, they may eventually threaten life. Therefore, if you find that you have roundworms, you must take anthelmintic medicine in time and eliminate the roundworms as soon as possible to ensure good health. So what happens after taking the anti-worm medicine?

What happens when you take anti-worm medicine?

Anti-worm medicine is a kind of medicine that can eliminate or kill parasites in the human intestine. After taking anti-worm medicine, the following symptoms may occur:

1. After taking anti-roundworm medicine, you may experience symptoms such as nausea, fever, headache, dry mouth, and fatigue. These symptoms generally disappear on their own after stopping the medication. If the adverse reactions do not disappear after stopping the medication, you need to seek medical attention immediately.

2. After taking anti-ascaris medicine, ascaris may appear in the stool, or you may vomit ascaris from your mouth.

Anti-ascaris medicine is a kind of drug. It has certain side effects on the human body, so you must take it according to the doctor's instructions and not take it at will. Anti-worm medicine is usually taken before meals, such as half an hour or 15 minutes before meals. There is no food in the stomach, and the efficacy of the anti-worm medicine can directly act on the roundworms in the stomach and intestines. Anti-worm medicine can also be taken before going to bed at night. After several hours of digestion, there is no food in the stomach, allowing the anti-worm medicine to fully exert its effect. In addition, night is also the time when roundworms are more active. Taking anti-worm medicine at this time can have a better insecticidal effect.

Drugs for treating ascariasis

(i) Benzimidazole compounds are broad-spectrum anthelmintics that can kill roundworms, hookworms, etc. Its insecticidal mechanism is that the drug selectively and irreversibly inhibits the insect's glucose uptake, causing the depletion of endogenous glycogen in the insect, and inhibits fumarate reductase, hindering the production of adenosine triphosphate, making it impossible for the insect to survive and reproduce, and ultimately die. Commonly used drugs are:

1. The daily dosage of mebendazole for children is 50-150 mg, and for adults it is 100 mg each time, once in the morning and evening, for 3 consecutive days. If the infection is not completely eliminated, a second course of treatment can be started after three weeks. This drug is effective in expelling roundworms and has rare side effects. When used to expel parasites for large-scale infections, abdominal pain and diarrhea may occur, but they are relatively mild.

2. Albendazole, also known as Enterococcus, is a new broad-spectrum anthelmintic. The dose is 400 mg, taken once. The efficacy is over 90%. However, in large-scale treatment, vomiting of roundworms in the mouth occasionally occurs.

3. The dosage of levamisole is 150 mg, taken once. The drug's anthelmintic effect is not as good as mebendazole, but it is better than piperazine. The side effects are mild, and there may be occasional nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. A small number of patients have mild liver damage after taking the drug. It should be used with caution in early pregnancy, liver or kidney diseases.
