5. Electric auxiliary heating: Household air conditioners on the market are all heat pump type. In heating mode, the outdoor unit of this type of air conditioner is cooling. When the ambient temperature is below 5 degrees, the temperature of the outdoor unit heat exchanger is below zero and freezes. Frequent shutdowns are required for defrosting, and normal heating cannot be achieved. Therefore, air conditioners are not suitable for winter heating in northern my country.
