The back of my head hurts and my eyes ache

The back of my head hurts and my eyes ache

Many people have pain in the back of their head and a feeling of swelling and pain in their eyes. This is because the diseases of the nervous function are connected in series, which leads to the impact on the eyes. This does not rule out the possibility of neuralgia, vascular headache, and wind-cold neuralgia. In terms of diet, in addition to eating less spicy, greasy, or irritating foods, the treatment effect is better with traditional Chinese medicine.

1. Neuralgia

Neuralgia headaches can be divided into dull pain and distending pain. The main pain sensation is tightness and oppression. This type of headache can cause insomnia. If the patient is often worried and insomniac, the headache may be aggravated. Patients with neuralgia headaches need to calm down and relieve nervous tension. They can do more massage and meditation. If the headache is obvious, they can use tea and cold compresses to reduce the pain response. Walking and exercising can also relieve this type of headache.

2. Vascular headache

Vascular headache is a common cause of headache. The cause is usually the problem of vascular constriction and disease in the brain that lead to headache. The former is primary and the latter is secondary. Patients with vascular headache can do more foot exercises, more, and often do neck extension exercises. They should reduce salt intake when eating. When pain comes, they can distract their attention, do abdominal breathing, and apply cooling oil to relieve it. In addition, they should arrange rest time reasonably, avoid tension, bad mood, cold and over-using the brain.

3. Neuralgia caused by wind and cold

The main pain area of occipital neuralgia is behind the brain, and it is mainly paroxysmal, with sharp pain, distending pain, throbbing pain, or intermittent dull pain. Sometimes there will be spasms of the neck muscles during an attack. Twisting the head and neck, sneezing, and coughing will aggravate the headache. The pain is usually caused by cold in the head and neck. Improving neurotrophic metabolism under the guidance of a doctor and taking painkillers can have a certain therapeutic effect. In normal times, you should prevent the back of the brain from getting cold, avoid excessive fatigue, prevent and treat cervical spondylosis, try to relax when you have neuralgia, reduce fatigue and tension in the neck, and massage the head and feet to relieve pain.

Traditional Chinese medicine is the main method of treating cervical spondylosis and is also a relatively effective treatment measure for cervical spondylosis. Its therapeutic effect is to relieve tension and spasm of the neck and shoulder muscles, restore cervical spine movement, and loosen nerve roots and soft tissue adhesions to relieve symptoms. Cervical traction therapy is an effective and widely used treatment method for cervical spondylosis. This therapy is suitable for all types of cervical spondylosis and is more effective for early cases. Physical therapy can play multiple roles in the treatment of cervical spondylosis. It is generally believed that in the acute phase, ion penetration, ultrasound, ultraviolet light or intermittent current can be used; after the pain is relieved, ultrasound, iodine ion penetration, induction electricity or other heat therapy can be used.

Drug treatment: Drugs can play an auxiliary symptomatic treatment role in the treatment of this disease. Analgesics, sedatives, vitamins (such as B1, B12), vasodilators and Chinese herbal medicines can be used, which have a certain effect on relieving symptoms. Warm compresses: This treatment can improve blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms, and eliminate swelling to alleviate symptoms, and help stabilize the affected vertebra after manual treatment. This method can be applied locally with a hot towel or a hot water bottle, but it is best to use a Chinese medicine fumigation and washing formula for hot compress. Warm compress treatment is not suitable for patients in the acute phase when the pain symptoms are severe.

Through what has been said above, we understand the causes of pain in the back of the head and how to use the most appropriate method to get the most effective results. Indeed, hot compress is a very good method. As long as you persist in it for a long time, there will always be improvement. Of course, you should also do more physical exercise to ensure your physical health.
