Thyroid tumor surgery process

Thyroid tumor surgery process

Tumors are a common symptom in people's body structures, which have a great impact on people's physical condition. There are many types of tumors, and the most common one is thyroid tumor. Usually, this type of tumor is solved through surgery. When it comes to surgery, many people are very worried about what problems may arise during the operation. So what exactly does thyroid surgery do? Let us now learn about the surgical process of thyroid tumor.

Treatment of suspected thyroid cancer nodules during thyroid tumor surgery: A more reasonable option is to screen and perform routine 131Ⅰ scans on all thyroid nodules. Except for those nodules shown as functional or inflammatory on 131I scan, surgical exploration was performed. Early surgical treatment is especially important in the following situations:

①Cancer nodules cannot be excluded.

② Cystic nodules with a diameter greater than 3 to 5 cm, or cancer cells found during puncture examination or nodules that do not disappear after 2 to 3 punctures.

③Ultrasound examination showed a solid tumor. Regarding the choice of surgical procedure for solitary nodules, the incidence of solitary nodule cancer is high, reaching 5% to 35%. There is no reliable method to judge it so far. Even frozen section examinations during surgery may miss some cases. Moreover, the postoperative recurrence rate is relatively high after simple nodule removal. It can reach 16.7%. Therefore, we routinely perform lobectomy plus isthmus resection on the affected side for patients with solitary solid thyroid nodules, cystic solid nodules, and cystic nodules >4 cm. If no lymphadenopathy is found during the operation, neck dissection is not performed.

Today's medical technology is constantly improving. Patients with thyroid tumors should pay attention to relevant care after surgery. In general, you should have regular follow-up visits to understand changes in your body, make your condition more stable, and prevent recurrence. When some thyroid tumors transform into toxic nodules, they may be accompanied by hyperthyroidism, with symptoms such as palpitations, irritability, sweating, aversion to heat, irritability, and hand tremors; when the thyroid tumor undergoes degenerative changes, it may be accompanied by symptoms of hypothyroidism such as fatigue, chills, etc.

To regain new hope in life, patients with thyroid tumors should love life and face it with a positive and optimistic attitude. There are always many unsatisfactory things in life, but the key is to know how to face them well. In your daily diet, you should arrange it reasonably and combine it in a healthy way to help improve your body's immunity. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and focus on a light diet.
