We all look forward to rain in the summer, but we may also feel stuffy because of the rain. It is normal to feel stuffy on rainy days because when it rains, the moisture in the air will condense a lot and become humid. The problem caused by humidity is stuffiness. Coupled with the need for the weather to change, this situation will naturally occur. You can judge the problem of stuffiness in the summer from various angles. Seasonal rainfall is generally caused by the combined influence of cold air and warm and humid air currents, while stuffiness is a manifestation of increased water vapor and higher temperatures in the atmosphere. This is also a sign of the coming summer thunderstorm. Summer rain is mostly showers and thunderstorms. The conditions for their occurrence are that the weather is sunny and the temperature is high in the previous period, and there is strong convection in some local areas, which causes a large amount of humid and hot air to rise rapidly, resulting in the formation of cumulonimbus clouds. At the same time, the hot air in the atmosphere increases and there is sufficient water vapor. Although the temperature changes little at this time, the atmosphere contains a lot of water vapor and has become saturated, making it difficult for the moisture on the ground to evaporate and for sweat from people to evaporate, so people will feel very hot and uncomfortable. Causes of Rain There are many causes of rain, and its forms are also unique, including drizzle, continuous rain, and heavy downpours. When the water on the earth is exposed to sunlight, it turns into water vapor and evaporates into the air. When water vapor encounters cold air at high altitudes, it condenses into small water droplets. These water droplets are very small, with a diameter of only 0.01 to 0.02 mm, and the largest is only 0.2 mm. They are small and light, and are held aloft by rising currents in the air. It is these small water droplets that gather in the air to form clouds. For these small water droplets to become raindrops and fall to the ground, their volume must increase by about 1 million times. How do these small water droplets increase their volume by more than one million times? It mainly relies on two means, one of which is condensation and sublimation. The second is to rely on the collision and growth of cloud droplets. In the early stages of raindrop formation, cloud droplets mainly rely on continuously absorbing water vapor around the cloud body to condense and sublimate themselves. If the water vapor in the cloud body is continuously supplied and replenished, so that the surface of the cloud droplets is often in a supersaturated state, then the condensation process will continue, causing the cloud droplets to continue to grow and become raindrops. But sometimes the water vapor content in the cloud is limited. In the same cloud, the water vapor is often in short supply. This makes it impossible for each cloud droplet to grow into a larger raindrop. Some smaller cloud droplets have to merge into larger cloud droplets. If water droplets and ice crystals coexist in the clouds, the condensation and sublimation process will be greatly accelerated. When the cloud droplets in the cloud grow to a certain size, due to the continuous increase in volume and weight of the large cloud droplets, they can not only catch up with the slower small cloud droplets during the descent, but also "swallow" more small cloud droplets to make themselves bigger. When the big cloud droplets grow bigger and bigger, and finally become so big that the air can no longer support them, they fall straight from the clouds to the ground and become the rain we see today. In addition to acid rain and colored rain, there are many interesting kinds of rain, such as frog rain, iron rain, gold rain, and even money rain. They are all masterpieces of tornadoes. Effects of Rain 1. Rain is an indispensable part of the earth and is the only way for almost all terrestrial plants far away from rivers to replenish fresh water. 2. Rain can irrigate crops and is conducive to afforestation. 3. Rain can reduce dust in the air and lower the temperature. 4. Rain helps store water in reservoirs, replenishes groundwater, and replenishes river water, which is beneficial for power generation and shipping. 5. Rain can isolate the noisy world and create a peaceful environment, it can induce hypnosis, and it can clean the streets. 6. Rain can wash away ground garbage, dilute toxic substances and purify the environment. 7. Rain can purify the air and make you feel refreshed after the rain. Another aspect of the role: 1. Too much rain will affect plant growth, inhibit plant respiration, and even cause death. 2. During the plum rain season in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, there will be a long period of gloomy and rainy weather, during which time all things are very likely to get damp and rot. 3. When a thunderstorm comes, there will often be strong winds and thunderstorms. When strong winds come, sand and rocks fly everywhere, blowing off roofs and collapsing walls. In the wind and rain, things on the street danced in the wind, flying everywhere, even uprooting big trees. 4. Continuous rainy days will affect people's mood, making them feel bored and depressed. 5. Excessive rain will cause traffic jams and trigger natural disasters such as landslides and mud-rock flows. 6. Acid rain corrodes many buildings. (See the entry "acid rain" for details) 7. Cause the road to slip, thus causing a traffic accident. 8. Rain can carry toxic substances from the soil into groundwater, thereby polluting the groundwater. 9. Excessive rainfall will cause the water levels of reservoirs, rivers and lakes to surge, leading to flood disasters. 10. Excessive rainfall can lead to serious soil erosion. |
