Frog Dangers

Frog Dangers

Frog pose is a common fitness method, but when doing this kind of fitness, you should also understand some precautions. After all, everyone's body structure is different. When doing this kind of fitness, you must proceed step by step. If you feel uncomfortable, you should make adjustments in time. Inappropriate frogs can cause certain harm, such as damage to the hip joint, which can lead to pain and other symptoms.

Frog Hazards

01. Why is the hip tight?

Many people say, "My bones are too hard to practice yoga." In fact, there are two misunderstandings in this statement:

First of all, the "hard" things are not bones, but muscles, fascia, ligaments and other tissues.

Secondly, precisely because it is “hard”, it is even more necessary to practice yoga. Stiff muscles can lead to poor blood circulation, deterioration of the lymphatic system, sub-health and other problems.

The body is like the hip joint, and the hands and feet are the muscles around the hip joint. As shown in the figure, these are the muscles that act around the hip joint. If these muscles lack elasticity, the range of motion of the hip joint will be limited, and ultimately the space for the body to move will be reduced.

There are many causes of tight hips.

1. Lack of exercise.

Muscles need to become warm to be elastic. If the body does not move, the muscles will not receive enough blood and will lack strength and elasticity. Over time, this can cause muscle stiffness.

2. Sitting for a long time with incorrect sitting posture.

This causes the posterior thigh muscles and gluteal muscles, including the iliopsoas, to become too tight and stiff. Think about your usual sitting posture, whether you are hunched over, crossing your legs, or leaning your whole body on the back of a chair or sofa. These are also important factors that cause hip "tightness".

02. What is hip opening?

Hip flexibility is very important for splits, full lotus, and many other poses!

Usually in hip-opening classes, you will learn classic hip-opening poses such as pigeon pose and frog pose. However, even if you do these poses frequently, you still cannot do splits or full lotus pose. Why?

As can be seen from the picture, the connection between the femur and pelvis is called the hip joint, which is a ball and socket joint.

This structure allows the hip joint to move in six directions: flexion (such as forward bend pose), extension (such as camel pose), abduction (such as sitting angle pose), adduction (such as cow face pose), external rotation (such as bound angle pose) and internal rotation (such as hero sit pose).

When all six directions are free to move, the hip can be said to be "open". The opposite is called a "tight" hip.

What are the benefits of hip openers?

①Help fat metabolism and eliminate negative emotions

For those who often try to lose weight but cannot, it is very likely that your hips are "tight", which causes the upper and lower circulatory systems to not work properly. Fat accumulates in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs and cannot be metabolized away, so the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs tend to become thicker.

②Open up the body's upper and lower circulation channels

One reason why your hands and feet are often cold is because of tight hips. The small gap between the joints leads to poor blood circulation. When the hip joints are properly opened, blood circulation will be better.

③Improve dysmenorrhea and regulate menstrual period

Opening the hip joint will promote blood flow in the pelvic cavity for people with dysmenorrhea. During menstruation, menstrual blood will be discharged smoothly. In fact, the flexibility of the hip joint also has an impact on women's menstrual period. The first reason why women have cold uterus is because of the lack of abdominal fat, and the second is because of the poor blood circulation in the pelvis. If the blood circulation in the pelvic cavity is poor, menstrual blood cannot be discharged smoothly during menstruation. If toxins in the body are not cleared over time, it will affect the next menstrual period and also have adverse effects on the body.

④Relieve low back pain

Tight hip joints can easily cause the lumbar spine to be excessively involved in movement, which can cause pain in the lumbar spine over time. It is easy to have problems such as lumbar disc herniation and lumbar vertebra strain. Open the hips and hip joints to release the tense and fatigued lumbar spine
