Does quartz stone have radiation?

Does quartz stone have radiation?

Quartz stone is a relatively common composite material, but the functional additives contained in the resin in quartz stone are generally environmentally friendly and can come into direct contact with food. It is the best choice for many environmentalists. Many people worry that quartz stone has radiation. In fact, quartz stone does have certain radiation, but the radiation emitted is relatively weak, so there is no need to worry too much.

Does quartz countertops have radiation?

Quartz countertops are the same as other decorative stones. They have certain radiation, but the radiation emitted by quartz is very weak. Because of its dense and non-porous surface, bacteria on quartz countertops have nowhere to hide. Therefore, it is still very healthy to use quartz countertops. Quartz is considered to be an environmentally friendly stone material on the market. Its characteristics are mainly reflected in the following points:

1. The pigments of quartz stone are mainly mineral pigments. Like natural stone, this type of pigment is a material that does not change color easily. Ordinary stone countertops will be broken, but quartz countertops will not, because they are highly elastic and not easy to break. The maintenance method in daily life is also very simple, usually it can be done with ordinary detergents.

2. Some materials used to make cabinets can be easily scratched, but quartz countertops will not be like this. Due to vacuum compression, the hardness of quartz can reach level 7.5. As we all know, the highest hardness is level 10, so quartz will not be easily scratched. In addition, the raw materials of quartz stone have a high melting point, so quartz stone can withstand high temperatures.

3. Quartz is extremely hard, with a Mohs hardness of 6 or above. Household items such as spatulas, wallpaper knives, steel wool and other ordinary iron tools cannot scratch or wear it (but avoid strong scratches on the surface by hard objects such as diamonds, quartz stone equipment sandpaper, and carbide).

How to choose quartz countertops

1. Visually, the sample has a pure color without turbidity, the surface has no plastic-like texture, and there are no tiny pores on the back of the plate.

Check whether the product has ISO quality system certification, quality inspection report, product warranty card and related anti-counterfeiting marks.

2. Look at the cut pieces: the small thin pieces (thickness within 2 mm) cut by workers during on-site installation, see if they are elastic. The better the elasticity and toughness, the better the quality and the higher the price.

3. Dirt resistance test: Check whether the countertop can wash away stains of lipstick, ketchup, and soy sauce. High-end products are easy to remove, while low-quality products are easy to penetrate and difficult to remove.

4. Measure the size and specifications of the stone. So as not to affect the splicing, or cause the patterns, designs, and lines after splicing to deform, affecting the decorative effect.

5. Check whether the surface particles and color are uniform. If you observe the particles, see if you can vaguely see the particles of the next layer. The clearer the better. Secondly, check whether there are bubbles on the sides and back. Generally, solid surface materials are of better quality and are not easy to break.
