When the grain is still in the field, it is already carrying rice weed eggs. It still sticks to some rice after being processed in a grain factory. The eggs are so small that they are invisible to the human eye. The eggs hatch into small insects when the temperature is high in summer. They are surrounded by rice, their favorite food, so they eat a lot and reproduce quickly.

Rice bugs:

Rice weevils refer to borers in rice. There are two most common types of rice weevils in rice. One is the corn weevil with a long pointed nose and a shiny black body; the other is the larvae of the outer rice moth, which is long and white and can spin silk;

Tips to prevent rice from getting infested with insects:

1 Fill the bottle with 50 grams of liquor without covering it. Then bury the bottle in the rice with the mouth of the bottle higher than the rice surface and seal the rice bag. Due to the weak breathing of rice, the air becomes less and less, and the volatile ethanol in the wine has insecticidal and bactericidal effects, so it can prevent insects.

2 First put an appropriate amount of water in the pot, then take a dozen peppercorns and put them in the pot and cook with the water, then put the cloth bag in to soak it, take it out and dry it. When packing rice, sew a few small pockets with gauze and put some peppercorns in them. Place them at the bottom, middle and upper parts of the rice respectively. Tie the mouth of the bag tightly and place it in a cool and ventilated place. This will prevent the rice from being infested with insects.

3. Scattering a few cloves of garlic among the rice can have the same anti-insect effect.
