Job's tears maturity period

Job's tears maturity period

Job's tears is a very good food. It can not only help the body metabolize excess water, but also can achieve the effect of whitening and removing spots to a certain extent. If you want to get this small piece of Job's tears, you need to spend a lot of effort to grow it. It not only depends on weather factors, but also requires a lot of effort from the growers to finally mature. Therefore, we must cherish food and not waste other people’s efforts.

1. Planting time

The time for planting Job's tears is actually closely related to the climate. At the same time, there are many time periods for planting Job's tears. Generally speaking, it can be planted from March to June every year. To be more specific, the earliest is from early March to mid-March every year, followed by late March to early April, and then late April to early May. The last sowing time is early June. In other words, it cannot be sown earlier than March and not later than June. Too early or too late will affect the yield of Job's tears.

2. Planting Method

Seed selection and land preparation: Be careful when choosing Job's tears seeds. Select those with full and shiny grains for seeds, or choose excellent varieties when buying seeds, that is, seeds with strong adaptability, strong resistance, good yield and good quality. After selecting the seeds, you need to prepare the land. There are two ways to prepare the land. The first is hydroponic land preparation, which is to fill the field with water first, then plow the field, and make sure it is flat. The second method is to prepare the land using the dry farming method, which involves digging the soil, making ridges and ditches, and establishing a drainage and irrigation system. Both methods require applying base fertilizer to ensure soil fertility.

3. Sowing method: Seeds must be processed before sowing, that is, put the seeds in a cloth bag without words, and then soak them in lime water. After one day, take out the cloth bag and rinse it several times with clean water. This will help increase the germination rate of the seeds, and then you can sow them. There are two methods of sowing, namely hydroponics and dry farming. The hydroponics method is the same as transplanting rice seedlings, but there is no need to add water to the field all the time. Just wait for the soil to dry and then dig ditches and make ridges. The dry planting method is to sow seeds at certain intervals on the ridges prepared previously.

4. Field management: If thinning occurs in the field, timely replacement should be carried out. Generally, weeding and fertilization should be carried out when the Job's tears seedlings grow to five or six centimeters. The second weeding should be done when they are fifteen to twenty centimeters. Fertilization should be applied this time as well. Top dressing should be carried out when the seedlings grow to about thirty-five centimeters, which is when they bloom and form ears. Generally, farmyard manure or urea should be applied, and measures should be taken to prevent lodging. Water is also crucial during the growth process of Job's tears. Generally, there is more water during the germination period, but try to keep it dry when the seedlings are growing. When it comes to ear formation, water must be replenished in time, so the water content in the field must be controlled well. Finally, in order to increase the yield, we usually use artificial means to help the coix seed pollination and increase the ear setting rate.

5. Harvest at the right time: The season for Job's tears to mature is generally September, but the time for each Job's tears to mature varies, and even the same plant has different maturity times. Generally, when 80% of the Job's tears change color and harden, they can be harvested. The cut Job's tears need to be dried in the sun for three or four days before they can be threshed. After threshing, the fruits need to be dried in the sun for a few days before being peeled and packaged. This is when the harvest is truly over.
