How to wash dried red wine

How to wash dried red wine

In the eyes of many people, drinking red wine is a very elegant thing, and they can savor it in a western restaurant in a suit and tie. However, with the popularity of red wine, many people have become more and more casual about it, and would even drink it in large glasses like beer. Therefore, it is common for red wine to spill on clothes. After returning home, I am always at a loss as to what to do when faced with the red wine marks. How to quickly clean the marks left by dried red wine? Next, let’s take a look at:

Tip 1

First of all, before cleaning wine stains from clothes, it is best to absorb the wine stain area with a clean cloth and try to absorb as much wine as possible. Of course, avoid over-scrubbing. Just wipe it gently. In addition, if the wine stain area is large, it is best to start from the outside and then wipe towards the center little by little. This will effectively control the spread of the wine stain.

Then, you need to sacrifice a bottle of white wine. It’s best to always have a bottle of high-acid, mild, opened white wine in the cupboard. Pour white wine into a large basin and soak the stained clothing. The clothes need to soak for an hour or two, or even longer. During this time, don’t forget to rub the stain from time to time. Finally put the clothes into the washing machine.

Tip 2

If you don't have white wine at home, you can choose another remedy. In an empty bottle, fill one-third water, one-third household alcohol, and one-third white vinegar. It is best to have a bottle of this mixture at home. The operation method is the same as above: pour the mixture into a large basin, soak the clothes in the basin, then take out the clothes and put them into the washing machine.

The principles of these two methods are basically the same: acid and alcohol can dilute anthocyanins, while promoting the dissolution and decolorization of pigments. Anthocyanins are the main substance that constitutes the color of wine.

However, if the stain has dried, then do not touch the stain anymore and take the garment to the dry cleaner as soon as possible.
