How to clean the water storage tank of a water purifier

How to clean the water storage tank of a water purifier

Nowadays, water purifiers have become an indispensable appliance in thousands of households, which shows people's attention to water safety. The principle of a water purifier is to filter water through a filter element, thereby reducing impurities in the water. As impurities accumulate, the filter element will become contaminated and need to be cleaned in time. Cleaning the water purifier storage tank gives many people a headache because it is very troublesome to clean. In order to ensure water safety, everyone should learn the correct cleaning method.

1. The core part of the water purifier is the filter element, and the filter element inside it needs to be replaced regularly. The frequency of its replacement depends on the local water quality, frequency of use and water production effect. Generally, it must be replaced at least every six months and at most once a year. Therefore, to maintain the water purifier well, you must also maintain the filter element: clean and replace it in time.

2. The bacteria that grow on the filter element of the household water purifier we use daily will cause some chemical reactions in the water purifier. If we do not clean the inside of the water purifier and replace the filter element in time, the nitrite content in the water purifier will seriously exceed the standard. We all know that nitrite is carcinogenic. Especially with the increase of usage time, the ability of the water purifier to absorb harmful substances is also constantly decreasing, so it is very important to clean and replace the filter element in time.

3. The filter element has a service life. When the filtration of the filter element reaches saturation, the harmful substances in the water will not only not be adsorbed, but will also aggravate the pollution of the water quality, which is the end of its service life. Therefore, when choosing water purifier products, we should pay more attention to maintenance and cleaning.

4. However, different water purifiers use different filter elements, so their service life is also different. In household water purifiers, the filter elements generally include PP cotton, pre-activated carbon filter element, ultrafiltration membrane, RO membrane, and post-activated carbon. PP cotton is a coarse filter element that filters large particles visible to the naked eye, so it generally needs to be replaced every 2-3 months; the pre-activated carbon filter element is different. After using it for a period of time, its adsorption capacity will decrease, so it generally needs to be replaced every 8-12 months; the ultrafiltration membrane is generally replaced every 15-18 months; the RO membrane is generally replaced every three years; and the post-activated carbon is the same as the ultrafiltration membrane, and it is also replaced every 15-18 months.
