Foods that cause gastrointestinal bacterial infections

Foods that cause gastrointestinal bacterial infections

In life, many people often pay attention to some bacterial inflammation problems. For example, they often pay more attention to their diet arrangements and whether they have a reasonable rest. But even so, they still find that some foods that cause intestinal bacterial infections are not well understood. In fact, there are many factors that cause intestinal bacterial infections.

Causes

The pathogens of profuse bowel syndrome are Salmonella, Shigella and Campylobacter. These bacteria are common pathogens of intestinal infectious diseases. In addition to anal sex and oral sex, the disease can also be transmitted through hands contaminated by the bacteria, which then contaminate food, or through flies that contaminate food.

Self-diagnosis points

Salmonella infection

1. The incubation period is 4-24 hours, occasionally as short as 2 hours and as long as 2-3 days.

2. The main organs affected are the gastrointestinal tract, rectum, anus, and genitals.

3. The clinical characteristics are rapid onset, often with chills and fever (38-39℃) that can last for 2-4 days. Initial symptoms include abdominal discomfort, followed by abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, with the frequency varying from 20 to 30 times per day. The stools are mostly watery, grass green or dark yellow, with a foul odor, and occasionally contain pus or blood. Severe diarrhea can cause dehydration, acidosis and shock.

Shigella infection

1. The incubation period ranges from a few hours to 7 days, usually 1-2 days.

2. The disease site is the lower intestine and external reproductive tract.

3. The clinical characteristics are acute onset, first with chills and fever, with body temperature reaching above 39°C, accompanied by general discomfort, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of toxic blood, and abdominal pain and diarrhea after a few hours. Diarrhea occurs more than ten or dozens of times a day. It is initially yellow and thin, but later mucus, pus and blood appear. There is tenesmus after defecation, especially in the lower abdomen, which is often accompanied by tenderness. In severe cases, there may be persistent high fever, severe vomiting and diarrhea, obvious bloody stools, dehydration, acidosis, and low blood pressure.

Campylobacter infection

1. The incubation period is 2-10 days, with an average of 5 days.

2. The affected areas are the upper intestine and external genitalia.

3. The clinical characteristics are sudden diarrhea, 3-4 times or more than 20 times a day, initially with watery stools, followed by mucus or pus and blood in the stools, and a few have obvious blood in the stools. The abdominal pain may be severe, cramping, or colicky. The fever may be above 38°C, or no fever, and is often accompanied by vomiting, fatigue, discomfort and belching. Since the lesion is in the upper intestine, there is no tenesmus. A small number of patients have a protracted illness with intermittent diarrhea lasting 2-3 weeks.
