What's the matter with the pain in the vest and chest

Angina pectoris is a relatively common heart disease. Many people suffer from angina pectoris in life. When suffering from angina pectoris, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time. Angina pectoris is very dangerous when it occurs. Sometimes untimely treatment may even endanger the patient's life. In life, we must take good measures to prevent angina pectoris and develop good living and eating habits.

What is the cause of the pain in the vest and chest?

In this case, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a lung CT scan to rule out lung disease. If these tests are normal, then it is considered angina pectoris.

Early symptoms of angina

1. Pain in the lower 1/3 of the sternum, that is, between the midline of the thorax and the left nipple.

2. The pain range is often in an area, and patients usually use a clenched fist placed in the middle of the chest or slightly to the left to indicate the pain range.

3. The pain is often not limited to the chest, but often radiates to the larynx in the front of the neck, and the neck feels like being strangled. The pain also radiates to the ulnar side of the left upper limb, the back, the left shoulder, the three inner fingers of the left hand, and the leg.

4. Angina pectoris often starts slowly, with mild dull pain at first, and can reach a climax after a few minutes.

5. Last for 3-4 minutes, up to 15 minutes.

6. It may be triggered by emotional excitement or fatigue.

7. Angina pectoris induced by physical activity will disappear within a few seconds after stopping the activity.

8. It is not advisable to lie flat during an attack. When lying flat, the amount of blood flowing back to the heart from the lower limbs increases, which increases the burden on the heart and aggravates angina pectoris. The patient should rest in a semi-recumbent position.

9. A full meal can often induce angina pectoris, and it often occurs within 30 minutes of eating. The pain may also be aggravated by drinking cold water, getting drunk, or smoking.

Symptoms of angina

1. Typical symptoms of angina pectoris

Sudden onset of squeezing, stuffy or suffocating pain behind the upper or middle part of the sternum, which may also affect most of the precordial area, radiate to the left shoulder, the anterior and inner side of the left upper limb, and reach the ring finger and little finger, occasionally accompanied by a sense of impending death, often forcing the patient to stop activity immediately, and in severe cases, sweating. The pain lasts for 1 to 5 minutes, rarely more than 15 minutes; the pain disappears within 1 to 2 minutes (rarely more than 5 minutes) after resting or taking nitroglycerin. It often occurs when you are tired, emotionally excited (angry, anxious, over-excited), cold, full, or smoking. It can also be triggered by anemia, tachycardia, or shock.

2. Atypical angina symptoms

The pain may be located in the lower sternum, left precordial area or upper abdomen, radiating to the neck, mandible, left scapula or right chest. The pain may disappear quickly or only cause discomfort or stuffiness in the left chest. It is common in elderly patients or diabetic patients.
