Oral disease is the most common problem in our lives. Many people have bleeding teeth when they drink water, which makes them very uncomfortable. No one knows the cause of bleeding teeth, so they don’t know how to deal with it correctly. So let’s take a look at why teeth bleed when drinking water? Some people experience toothache after eating sour or sweet fruits, such as apples, oranges, grapes, etc., or drinking cold drinks. This is what people often call tooth decay, also known as dentin hypersensitivity. We know that the outermost layer of the tooth is the hard white enamel, the second layer is the dentin, and the innermost layer is the pulp. The enamel covering the surface of our teeth has no sensory nerves, so usually our teeth do not experience allergic symptoms such as soreness. When the enamel is severely worn, the dentin will be exposed. The dentinal tubules contain nerve endings extending from the pulp cavity. When this part of the tissue is exposed, the teeth will become sensitive to cold, hot, sour, sweet and other stimuli. There are many reasons why tooth enamel can be severely worn away. For example: trauma can damage part of the hard tissue of the tooth, causing exposure of the dentinal tubules; brushing the teeth horizontally can cause wedge-shaped defects near the root of the tooth; liking to eat hard food, such as dry pancakes, sesame cakes, etc., as well as bruxism (grinding teeth while sleeping) and unilateral chewing can cause the enamel on the biting surface of the tooth (the upper and lower opposite surfaces of the back molars) to wear away, causing exposure of the dentinal tubules; and patients with systemic diseases such as excessive gastric acid and neurosis will develop dentin hypersensitivity. Once you suffer from dentin hypersensitivity, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time to prevent diseases such as tooth decay. Through the above explanation, we have already understood why teeth bleed when drinking water? We should do some preventive work in our daily life. The simplest one is to brush our teeth every morning and evening. It is best to use warm water when brushing your teeth, not cold water, as that will cause excessive stimulation to the teeth. Also, please note that you should not use too much force when brushing your teeth. |
