How to kill mattress mites?

Mites can appear anywhere in our lives, such as on mattresses, quilts, pillows, etc. In recent years, with the improvement of daily living standards, people have paid more and more attention to health issues. Although we often clean our rooms and some people often clean mattresses, many mites will still breed on the mattresses. Everyone knows that mites are very harmful to human skin.

How to kill mattress mites?

1. First, use relevant tools to clean the dirt on the surface of the mattress, then sprinkle baking soda evenly on the surface of the mattress. After standing for half an hour, the odor on the mattress will be eliminated. Then use a vacuum cleaner to clean it. In addition, for stains on the mattress, you can first press and clean it with a wet towel.

2. For a new mattress, in the first year of use, it should be turned over once every three months to make the springs of the mattress more evenly stressed. After that, it can be turned over about every six months. In addition, the mattress should be dried with a hair dryer immediately after wiping it, and patting it more often can also keep the mattress clean.

Other places to remove mites

1. High temperature cleaning and exposure

Generally speaking, mites will die after about 15 minutes of exposure to the sun, so it is recommended to expose mats, quilts, etc. to the sun for two to three hours every half a month. It is best to choose a period of strong light from 11 to 15 o'clock. After drying, you should also knock the quilt to shake off the body fragments and excrement of the mites.

2. Freezing

For some bedding items that are difficult to wash, it is recommended to wrap them with plastic wrap and then refrigerate them in the refrigerator for 6 to 24 hours. At this time, the mortality rate of mites can reach 70%. Then expose them to the sun and pat them.

3. Keep indoor ventilation

Since this type of pathogen likes to live in a humid environment, good indoor ventilation should be ensured, which can kill the mites to a certain extent. In addition, remember to open the windows after waking up every morning, which is conducive to ventilation and can also discharge the polluted air of the night to the outside.

How to prevent mattress mites

Try to wash quilts and bed sheets in 60°C water every month to kill the germs hidden in them. In addition, do not lay carpets in the bedroom, but lay tiles or wooden floors. Mop the floor with a wet mop every day, keep the air dry and ventilated, and minimize dust.

Mattress dust mite removal precautions

For bedrooms where such pathogens have already grown, some remedial measures must be taken immediately, such as reducing indoor dust as much as possible so that dust infected with mites and other molds cannot drift into the air. In addition, if conditions permit, an air purifier can be used in the bedroom to help filter out allergens in the air.
