As we all know, Pu'er tea is a specialty of Yunnan Province. Yunnan Province's superior geographical location and climatic environment have created excellent conditions for the growth of Pu'er tea, which is also the reason why it has a pure taste. Many people have questions, can Pu'er tea only be grown in Yunnan? Actually not. In Iceland there is also Iceland Pu'er tea which is not inferior to Yunnan Pu'er tea. Let us learn about the characteristics of Iceland Pu'er tea.

Bingdao is located in the northernmost part of Mengku Town, 33 kilometers away from Mengku Town, bordering Nanmei Township, Lincang City. It takes less than an hour to reach Bingdao Village by car from Mengku Town along the Nanmeng River. ...Mengku Iceland Tea, first understand that Iceland Village is composed of five villages, they are Iceland, Dijie, Nanpo, Nuowu, and Bawai, collectively known as Iceland Village. Every village has ancient tea trees. Bingdao, Dijie and Nanpi are located in the western half of the mountain, while Nuowu and Bawai are located in the eastern half of the mountain. Dozens of kilometers in radius. The altitude is around 1,600 meters. There are similarities and differences in the quality of tea. Among them, the quality of Iceland Village is superior to the other four villages, especially the sweetness and coolness of Iceland Village are incomparable. If we want to distinguish the ancient tree tea of Bingdao Village from that of other villages, it should be called "Bingdao Zhengshan".

Brief introduction of several villages in the west half of Mengku Mountain in Lincang Tea Area:

Tofu Village

Doufuzhai is another large tea village under the Gongnong Village Committee. It is now inhabited by Han people and has more than 70 households. Doufu Village was formerly called Zhonghusai by the Lahu people in Xiaohu Village.

In 1950, there were more than 100 mu of tea gardens planted in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China in Doufu Village. After 1952, more and more people and households moved in, and more and more houses were built. More than half of the old tea gardens were cut down, and now only 20 to 30 mu are left, surrounded by houses in the middle of the village.

Doufuzhai is a low-lying village in Gongnong area. There are Wujia Village and Sanjia Village above it. Wujia Village is higher than Doufuzhai, with an altitude of nearly 1,800 meters. Above it is Sanjia Village, 1 kilometer away. Sanjia Village is the highest tea-producing village in Shuangjiang and Mengku, with an altitude of 2,000 meters. From Sanjia Village, you can not only see the whole western half of the mountain, but also have a panoramic view of the Mengku Basin at the foot of the mountain.

The ancient tea garden of Sanjia Village is just in front of the village. The trees are so close to each other that people can climb up a tree to pick leaves without having to come down and directly climb to another tree. The circumference of the main trunk of the tea trees in this ancient tea garden is mostly over 90 cm, and the trees are at least over 200 years old.

Nanpo Laozhai

Nanpo Old Village is a Lahu village with more than 70 households in the past. Due to the high altitude and inconvenient transportation, in 2000 the Shuangjiang County Government decided to relocate Nanpo Old Village as a whole to the road below Bingdao. However, after moving to the new village, some Lahu people were reluctant to abandon the fields, walnut forests and old tea gardens in the old village, and more than a dozen households moved back to the old village. There are many ancient tea trees in Nanpo, which are widely distributed. One kilometer away from the old village, you can see continuous ancient tea gardens in the forest. There are also hundreds of acres of ancient tea gardens in Nanpo Old Village. The history of this village is no less than 500 years. Because the Lahu people have poor processing technology, the processed dry raw tea cannot be sold at a high price, so most of the Lahu people carry the picked fresh leaves to Bingdao Old Village to sell.

Dijielaozhai

There were originally 60 households in Dijie Laozhai. Due to the inconvenience of communication and its proximity to the primeval forest, Shuangjiang County arranged for the entire village to move to the side of the highway in 2004. However, by 2007, more than 10 Lahu families moved back to the old village. There are fifty to sixty acres of ancient tea gardens in Dijielaozhai. The Lahu people can pick more than 1,000 kilograms of fresh leaves every year and sell them to tea merchants in Bingdao Village.

Bawailaozhai

Before 2000, there were more than 50 households in Bawai Laozhai. Since it consisted of a large Lahu village and a small Han village, the county arranged for all of them to move down the mountain in 2004. However, two years later, more than 10 Lahu families moved back to the old village on the mountain from the new village at the foot of the mountain. The old village on the mountain has four to five hundred acres of tea gardens, which may be the reason why the Lahu people moved back to the old village. Almost all of the ancient tea gardens in Bawai that are more than 200 years old are in the Lahu village, and now there are no less than 100 acres left. There are also more than 100 acres of old tea gardens around the Han village. The tea trees look much smaller than those in the Lahu village. Those are tea gardens planted during the Republic of China. From the tea gardens in the two villages, it can be seen that the Lahu people planted tea in Bawai earlier than the Han people. Bawai Laozhai is nearly 2,000 meters above sea level and far away from the Mengku Basin. It is a village with extremely inconvenient transportation in Mengku. However, the Shuangjiang County government still developed two to three hundred acres of tea gardens in Bawai Laozhai between 1958 and 1965. Perhaps because there had never been a tea processing plant in Bawai, the tea gardens were ultimately not developed on a large scale. The tea plantations in Bawai are far less than those in Bingdao, Dongguo, Dahusai and other villages, but Bawai has not planted any new tea trees since 1980, so the old village of Bawai is 100% pure Mengku large-leaf variety, and the raw materials of pure Mengku large-leaf variety are sold at a higher price in Shuangjiang than other varieties.

Wulaozhai

In 2003, there were still 35 households living in the old Nuowu village. In 2004, the Shuangjiang County Government arranged for the entire village to relocate to the roadside at the foot of the mountain, and the government allocated funds to build the new Nuowu village. Although the village has been relocated, the Lahu people still return to the old village to pick tea during the tea picking season. There are still fifty to sixty acres of ancient tea gardens in Nuowu. The size of the tea trees is similar to those in the old village of Bawai, and they should have been planted in the same era as Bawai. _

Nuowu tea is quite famous in Mengku, but the output is small and its price is comparable to the tea from Bingdao Laozhai. It is more difficult to buy pure Nuowu Laozhai tea than pure Bingdao Laozhai tea.

Bangma Dazhai

Bangma Dazhai is a large natural village of Bingshan Village Committee, with more than 130 households, most of which are Han nationality. Bangma Dazhai is very close to Gongnong Dazhai, only 4 kilometers away. Before 1950, Bangma was under the jurisdiction of Gongnong District Office. There is a small hill behind Bangma Dazhai. After climbing over the hill, you can see Xiaohusai, Doufuzhai, Sanjia Village, etc. on the opposite mountain. The slope halfway up the mountain is full of tea plantations. This is the famous Dapiepao Tea Plantation in Bangma. Dapiepo Tea Garden is the largest ancient tea garden preserved in Bangma, with at least 300 acres. According to the recollections of the elderly in the village, it was planted between 1880 and 1945.

Bingshan Dazhai

Bingshan Dazhai is now the location of Bingshan Village Committee. Bingshan Dazhai is divided into upper and lower villages. Upper village is a Han village with 50 households, and lower village is mainly inhabited by Wa people with more than 70 households. Bingshan Dazhai is a large tea village. There are tea fields within a radius of 5 kilometers around the village. The old tea fields and the new tea fields have been connected and cannot be distinguished. Bingshan had a large area of tea plantations in the 1950s. No new tea plantations were planted between 1950 and 1956, and the existing tea plantations are all old tea plantations.

Gunshangshan Village is located diagonally opposite Bingshan Village and faces Bingshan Village across the river. The name Gunshangshan sounds funny. People in Bingshan Village say that the origin of this name is related to a young man and woman in love. One year, a girl from the village at the foot of the mountain did not listen to her parents' dissuasion and decided to be with the man she loved. Her parents were so angry that they said, "Get up the mountain!" From then on, the young couple lived here. Gunshangshan is a village mainly inhabited by the Han ethnic group, with 86 households. Gunshangshan is located between Banggai and Bingshan. Both Banggai and Bingshan have ancient tea gardens, and so does Gunshangshan. From 1958 to 1980, a large number of new tea gardens were planted in Gunshangshan, Bingshan and Banggai. Tea seeds were brought from Bingdao, Gongnong and Bangmu, all of which were authentic large-leaf varieties. The people of Mengku have also understood that good raw materials cannot all flow away. Now the tea from the new tea gardens that roll up the mountain and the tea from the old tea gardens are all delivered to Bingshan Dazhai, where several Mengku tea factories have set up purchasing points.
