Are electronics factories harmful to the human body?

Nowadays, electronic products dominate the world and are almost indispensable in our lives. Although electronic products have brought great changes to our lives, it is not necessarily a good thing for many people who work in electronic manufacturers. Working in an electronics factory for a long time, especially for employees working on the front line of production, electronic components and products will cause certain harm to their health.

It depends on what department you are in. If you are in an office and don’t need to go to the workshop production line all the time, it’s fine. If you are in a workshop, especially an SMT workshop, the harmful gases produced when the solder paste and solder wire are heated are very harmful and can affect fertility. Moreover, the radiation hazards posed by machines such as electronic testing are also very serious. It is recommended that girls try not to work in electronics factories.

1. Types of work with no major impact

Circuit board processing, welding, painting, etc. have certain effects on the body, while assembly, debugging, packaging, etc. have basically no effects on the body.

2. Huge impact

Lead is used in the glass of the cathode ray tubes of traditional CRT monitors; the incandescent lamps used in the backlight sources of most LCD monitors contain harmful substances such as lead and mercury; lead is also used in all printed circuit boards; and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) are added to plastic casings as flame retardants.

Lead is mainly found in solder, printed circuit boards and incandescent light bulbs. Lead is a heavy metal element that is harmful to the nervous system. Symptoms that often occur after lead poisoning include: fatigue, depression, heart failure, abdominal pain, kidney deficiency, high blood pressure, joint pain, reproductive disorders, anemia, etc. It may also have an adverse effect on the intellectual development of its offspring.

Cadmium has very low toxicity. But its compounds are highly toxic. Cadmium poisoning in the human body is mainly caused by ingesting cadmium-contaminated water, food, and air through the digestive tract and respiratory tract.

Mercury is present in power supplies and light sources and is classified as a hazardous substance that is toxic by inhalation and has a bioaccumulative effect. The effects on the human body are mainly on the central nervous and renal systems.
