How to floss your teeth?

After people finish eating, there will inevitably be some food residues between the teeth. If these food residues are not cleaned up in time, it will be very detrimental to oral hygiene. Some plaque will appear over time. Therefore, these food residues must be cleaned up in time after meals. Brushing teeth is the most popular cleaning method. In addition, many people like to use dental floss to clean their teeth. The following will teach you the correct way to use dental floss.

How to floss your teeth?

1. Find a piece of dental floss that is about the length of your arm (about 45 cm for adults), or use a small dental floss holder.

2. Use one finger on each hand to wrap the dental floss around your finger to make the floss taut. The dental floss holder can be used directly. Straighten two fingers and slowly move the dental floss back and forth in a sawing motion to move it between the teeth.

3. Stretch the dental floss tautly on the adjacent surfaces of two teeth so that it is slightly C-shaped and scrape up and down. Move both fingers up and down at the same time, but be careful not to use too much force to avoid injury.

4. Use gentle sawing motions to insert the dental floss between the two teeth. Slowly pass the dental floss through the contact point between the two teeth. Be careful to keep the dental floss close to the tooth surface. Shake the dental floss up and down and in and out. Food stuck in the gap between the teeth can be brought out as the dental floss moves.

5. Place the dental floss close to the tooth surface in an arch shape and move gently from the root to the crown to remove dirt attached to the adjacent surfaces of the teeth. Scrape each tooth surface up and down 5-6 times until the tooth surface is clean.

6. After removing the dental floss with a sawing motion, remember to rinse your mouth slowly and gently to remove remaining plaque and food debris.

Oral health experts kindly remind you: Be careful not to use too much force when flossing, otherwise it will damage your gums. Use dental floss of different segments to enter different gaps between teeth, and always keep the dental floss clean. Clean dental floss can create a healthy oral environment.

Dental floss is a thin flat wire that is specially used to clean dirt and food debris in the gaps between teeth. Because it is extremely thin, it can easily enter the gaps between teeth and remove dirt and plaque attached to the gaps between teeth by rubbing against the teeth. Dental floss is an essential tool to ensure dental health, so how should we use dental floss?

In fact, it is not difficult to use the dental floss. Just take a piece of dental floss of appropriate length, insert it into the gap between two teeth and rub it slowly from bottom to top, and the dirt will be cleaned out. Follow this procedure to clean each gap in the mouth in turn. When cleaning the teeth on both sides, operate horizontally, and it is easier to clean the teeth in the middle by operating vertically.
