There are tartar and rust on teeth, which is caused by not brushing the teeth thoroughly for a long time. The calcium elements attached to the teeth cannot be brushed off, and can only be removed through some methods used in dental hospitals. In fact, tartar can indeed cause great damage to our teeth. Over time, it will cause loose teeth, shifting teeth, and lack of strength when chewing. It can be conditioned and treated with some simple and effective methods. Tartar, commonly known as "tooth rust", is a hard calcium salt deposit attached to the tooth surface and cannot be brushed off by brushing. Tartar is the result of mineralization of dental plaque. Dental plaque is a very dense and thin transparent film composed mainly of bacteria in the oral cavity. It is most likely to attach to the tooth neck, gum edge, tooth surface pits and grooves and rough areas. Dental plaque can only be seen after staining with a developer. There is a close relationship between dental plaque, tartar and periodontal disease. Experiments have shown that under sterile conditions, the mechanical stimulation of the gums by the rough surface of tartar alone does not cause obvious inflammation of the gums. However, the harm of long-term accumulation of food impaction and tartar to periodontal tissues lies mainly in that it constitutes a good site for plaque attachment and breeding. In addition, the presence of tartar will hinder oral hygiene and promote the formation of more plaque. Tartar itself is also prone to absorb more bacterial toxins, causing irritation to soft tissues, causing gum congestion and edema, and bleeding when brushing teeth. When gingivitis continues to develop into deeper tissues, there may even be a tendency for spontaneous gingival bleeding and bad breath. As the alveolar bone is destroyed, the teeth will become loose, displaced, and chewing will become difficult. Plaque and tartar are the main pathogens of periodontal inflammation. Therefore, thorough removal of tartar is crucial in the prevention and treatment of periodontal tissue diseases. But tartar often develops from plaque. Here are some methods to remove plaque. (l) Vinegar method: Take some vinegar and gargle it in your mouth without spitting it out. Keep it in your mouth for two to three minutes and then spit it out. Then brush your mouth with a toothbrush and finally rinse your mouth with warm water. Or when brushing your teeth, add two drops of vinegar to the toothpaste and brush your teeth. This will remove the tartar. (2) Brown sugar toothbrushing method: first take an appropriate amount of brown sugar and put it in your mouth. Hold it for about 15 minutes so that all the teeth in your mouth are immersed in the sugar solution. Then use a harder toothbrush to brush your teeth repeatedly for two to three minutes. Then use light salt water to brush your teeth for one or two minutes. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening every day for one week to remove the stains. (3) White alum toothbrushing method: Grind 50 grams of white alum into powder and brush your teeth with a toothbrush twice a day to remove yellow tartar. (4) Cuttlefish bone toothbrushing method: Take 50 grams of cuttlefish bone and grind it into fine powder. Mix it with toothpaste and brush your teeth twice a day to remove black tartar. The above are all simple methods to remove dental plaque. As long as you can keep your teeth free of dental plaque, tartar will not form. Once tartar is formed, the above methods are of little use and you have to ask your dentist to scrape it off with instruments. This is a time-consuming, incomplete and tooth-damaging method. In recent years, ultrasonic dental cleaners have been used to remove tartar with better results. |
