The effect of alcohol compress

Alcohol, also known as ethanol in industry, is a chemical substance. Alcohol can easily cause poisoning in people, but depending on the circumstances, alcohol can also have some disinfecting and bactericidal effects. So we need to analyze each case specifically, and alcohol can be used as a very important substance in industry. It plays a huge role, and some tips can also be used to serve people's lives in life. Therefore, alcohol is a substance that cannot be ignored and is needed in our daily lives. So what is the role of alcohol compresses?

Ethanol has strong permeability to the skin and can denature proteins regardless of the dilution ratio. Wet compresses with ethanol-water solution will cause the skin to become dry and hard, with partial bleaching of the epidermis or peeling. Generally speaking, ethanol-water solutions are wiped dry instantly and are not used for sterilization and disinfection. They are not kept wet for compresses (make sure it is ethanol, not propylene glycol or glycerin). Direct contact of ethanol with your fingers will make them very dry and hard, and the same is true for other parts of your body. Please try not to use ethanol-water solution to wet the affected area for a long time. If you want to moisturize or increase penetration, please use propylene glycol, DMSO or laurocapram. Glycerin will also make the skin dry.

Wet compress therapy refers to a method of treating diseases by applying gauze dipped in medicinal soup to the affected area. This method has the effects of inhibiting exudation, astringing and relieving itching, reducing swelling and relieving pain, controlling infection, and promoting skin healing. This method is to process the prescribed medicine into powder according to the condition of the disease, or decoct it in water, or soak it in 95% alcohol for 5-7 days before use. It was called the "溻法" in ancient times.

Contraindications and precautions
