Many people will have oral ulcers every once in a while. During this period, they cannot eat spicy or sour food, and sometimes even have difficulty speaking. This is something many people have experienced. Many people are curious about the causes of oral ulcers and think that oral ulcers are caused by a lack of B vitamins. In fact, this is only one of the causes. This article introduces several causes of oral ulcers, as well as how to use honey to treat oral ulcers. Let’s take a look.

Causes of Mouth Ulcers :

1. Digestive system diseases and functional disorders

Patients with systemic diseases are prone to oral ulcers, mainly by affecting the immune system. Oral ulcers are related to gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, hepatitis, etc. Studies have shown that 30%-48% of patients with oral ulcers have digestive tract diseases, such as abdominal distension, diarrhea or constipation. More than 9% of them have gastrointestinal ulcers.

2. Endocrine changes

Some female patients often experience it during menstruation, which may be related to the decrease in estrogen levels in the body. Some women will experience oral ulcers during their menstrual period or before and after their menstrual period. Medication can only provide temporary relief, and the ulcers will reappear during the next menstrual period, causing unbearable pain. At the same time, they are often accompanied by annoying symptoms such as dry mouth, irritability, irritability, and dry stools. Clinical studies have found that oral ulcers during menstruation are mainly caused by increased progesterone levels and decreased estrogen (progesterone, etc.) levels in the body.

3. Mental factors

Some patients develop the disease when they are under mental stress, mood swings, or poor sleep, which may be related to autonomic dysfunction.

4. Other factors

Lack of trace elements such as zinc, iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and malnutrition can reduce immune function and increase the possibility of recurrent oral ulcers. There are also a small number of people who have genetic factors.

How to treat oral ulcers with honey

Oral ulcers are mostly caused by getting angry or lack of vitamins, and honey has the effect of clearing heat and contains multiple vitamins. Eating honey every day has a certain effect on oral ulcers.

Wash your mouth clean, then apply honey on the ulcer surface with a sterilized cotton swab. Do not eat or drink after application. After about 15 minutes, you can swallow the honey and saliva, and then continue to apply it. You can repeat the application several times a day.

Other treatments :

1. Beat the eggs into a bowl and mix into a paste. Put an appropriate amount of mung beans in a ceramic pot and soak them in cold water for more than ten minutes. Put on the fire and boil for about 1.5 minutes (do not cook for too long). At this time, the mung beans are not cooked. Take the mung bean water and mix it with frangipani to drink. This method is effective in treating oral ulcers, once in the morning and once in the evening.

2. Take 1 Liushen Pill (30 pills), grind it into powder, add 2 ml of cold boiled water to soak it into a thin paste for later use. Clean the patient's mouth before use, then use a thin cotton swab dipped in Liushen Pills liquid to apply to the ulcer surface. It is best to use the medicine 1 to 15 minutes before meals, 3 times a day, and one more time before bedtime. Generally, the pain relief effect can be achieved within 5 minutes of taking the medicine. Small ulcers can heal in 1 to 2 days, while larger ulcers can heal in 5 days.

3. Take zinc sulfate tablets or 12% zinc sulfate syrup, 40-80 mg each time for adults, 3 times a day. Generally, it will be cured after 5-7 days of continuous use.

4. Take an apple (or a pear), cut it into slices and put it in a container. Add cold water (not enough to cover the apple or pear to be cooked) and heat it until it boils. After it cools down a little, hold it in your mouth together with the wine for a while before eating. Use it for a few days to cure the disease.

5. Take whole milk powder 2 to 3 times a day, one tablespoon each time, add a little sugar, and drink it with boiled water. It is better to drink it before going to bed at night. Generally, the ulcer symptoms disappear within 2 days.

6. Crush 1 to 2 vitamin C tablets, apply them on the ulcer surface, close your mouth for a while, and do this twice a day.
