The instep of my foot hurts for no reason but there is no swelling. What's going on?

Many people will encounter some very special situations in their daily lives, such as unexplained pain in the instep of their feet without swelling. Many people do not know what causes this situation, and many people think that this situation is caused by some disease. So, what is the reason for the instep to ache for no reason but not swollen?

First, why does the instep hurt for no reason but not swollen? There are generally several possibilities for foot pain. One is toe tendon fasciitis, and the pain is located a little in front of the sole of the foot; the other is heel spur, which is considered to be caused by ischemia of the distal limb. You can pay attention to rest, use B vitamins to nourish the nerves, wash with hot water at night, and avoid cold at night. Plantar fasciitis is caused by aseptic inflammation of the tendons or fascia of the sole of the foot. The most common symptom is pain and discomfort in the heel. The tenderness is often on the sole of the foot near the heel. Sometimes the tenderness is severe and persistent. The pain is more obvious when getting up in the morning and worsens with excessive walking. Severe patients even feel pain when standing and resting. Plantar fasciitis is a chronic sports-related injury. Overtraining can also lead to heel pain that sometimes radiates to the front of the foot. This disease can affect adults of all ages.

Second, the long-term effect of overload pressure causes acute or chronic injury to the plantar fascia, which is the main cause of pain. The most common cause is frequent long-term walking, including mountain climbing, hiking, shopping and other activities. Walking for several days in a row can easily cause chronic damage to the sole of the foot, leading to plantar fasciitis. In addition, there are structural factors that lead to abnormal tension in the plantar fascia, such as flat feet, high arches, and short heel tendons. In the long run, improper posture and force when walking may cause pain in the waist, hips, knees, ankles and other parts.

What causes unexplained pain in the instep but no swelling? Patients experience heel pain when bearing weight, and the pain usually persists for months to years, especially when waking up in the morning or after a long period of inactivity. The most common symptom of plantar fasciitis is heel pain and discomfort. Generally speaking, the pain is most obvious in the first step when getting out of bed in the morning. This is mainly because after a night's rest, the plantar fascia is no longer weight-bearing and is in a shorter state. Therefore, when you get out of bed and step on the ground in the morning, the plantar fascia will be stretched more and faster, causing pain. But after walking for a while, the plantar fascia will become looser and the symptoms will ease. However, if you walk excessively, the plantar fascia will be stretched more and more often and the symptoms will reappear. The tenderness point is often on the sole of the foot near the heel. Sometimes the tenderness is severe and persists. The pain caused is characterized by throbbing, burning, and stabbing sensations. Rest and use physical therapy to improve heel pain, including ultrashort wave, electrotherapy, etc. For heel pain caused by standing for a long time or exercising, you can apply ice to the heel for 10 to 15 minutes. If there is no significant improvement, local blockade may be considered. 2. Arch support Using insoles with arch support can evenly disperse the pressure on the soles of the patients' feet, which can effectively reduce the tension on the plantar fascia when the lower limbs are weight-bearing, thereby reducing the damage to the plantar fascia caused by repeated pulling.
