How is body odor formed_Why does body odor exist

If you have body odor, it often has an adverse effect on your psychology. After all, the smell of body odor is relatively strong, which gives people a bad feeling and affects their daily social life. There are many causes of body odor. First of all, there is a certain genetic relationship. If parents have body odor, then they may pass this gene to their children. In addition, the secretion of apocrine glands is also an important cause of body odor.

How is body odor formed?

1. Armpit odor is related to genetics. According to surveys, if both parents suffer from axillary odor, the child’s chance of suffering from axillary odor is about 80%. If one parent has axillary odor, the chance of inheriting it is 50%.

2. Microhidrosis: It often occurs on the palms, soles and intertriginous areas. The sweat is usually colorless and odorless. However, in the case of excessive sweating, the sweat is decomposed by parasitic bacteria on the skin surface to release fatty acids, which produces special axillary odor.

3. Other substances such as garlic and arsenic can be excreted through the sweat glands and cause underarm odor.

4. Physiology and hormone secretion have obvious periodicity, so the symptoms of axillary odor will be more severe before and after menstruation and during pregnancy.

5. The bad living habits of a few people can easily lead to body odor.

6. Women have 50% more secretory glands on their body surface than men. These glands are concentrated around the breasts, armpits, anus and navel. The secretion of these glands often creates a moist and warm environment in certain parts of a woman's body, which becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and the cause of underarm odor.

7. There are many places on the human body that are not easy to clean, such as under the breasts, groin, armpits, navel, etc. There are many wrinkles, and the secretions are more than other parts. Many young men and women like to wear tight clothes, jeans, etc., which cause the skin to stick to the clothes, preventing the evaporation of secretions, making these local temperatures high and the humidity high, and some bacteria breed and multiply here, producing special underarm odor.

How to treat the rampant underarm odor in summer?

Alum powder is a common folk remedy for treating underarm odor, and it is quite effective. Generally, a piece of alum the size of an egg (industrial alum can also be used) is placed in a small iron can, which is then placed on fire to heat and dissolve in water. When all the water has evaporated and the can turns into white lumps, it is taken out and ground into powder for later use (enough for one year). Usage: After cleaning your armpits every morning, noon and evening, apply some powder on your fingers to your armpits to stop odor immediately. Some people also have yellow sweat in the middle of the chest and back, and they can apply alum powder to stop the odor.

For patients with severe axillary odor, surgical treatment is necessary. Usually, patients can use axillary suction to treat axillary odor, which is actually evolved from liposuction. A small incision about 1 cm long is made in the armpit, and then anesthesia is perfused into the axillary suction area. Subcutaneous superficial suction is then performed through the small incision with a suction tube to destroy and suck out the hair follicles and sweat gland tissue. This method is less painful, heals quickly after treating axillary odor, leaves small scars, is safe, and has satisfactory results. However, rough movements during suction can cause necrosis of the epidermis.
