What are the reasons for red urine?

The state of the body can be reflected from people's excretion conditions. For example, if people have diarrhea, they will have loose stools and become dehydrated; if they have a fever, their urine will turn yellow, and so on. Therefore, observing health conditions from excrement is a very effective diagnostic basis. Red urine is a relatively rare phenomenon. Let’s take a look at the reasons for red urine. People who have such problems must read it carefully.

1. Kidney and urinary tract diseases

(1) Inflammation. It can occur in any part of the urinary system, such as acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, acute cystitis, urethritis, urinary system tuberculosis, urinary system fungal infection, etc. (2) Stones. It can occur in any part of the body, such as the kidney, ureter, bladder, and urethra. When the stone moves, it scratches the urothelium, which can easily cause hematuria and secondary infection. (3) Tumor. Malignant tumors in any part of the urinary system or in adjacent organs that invade the urinary tract can cause hematuria. (4) Trauma. It refers to violence or trauma to the urinary system. (5) Congenital malformations. Such as polycystic kidney disease, congenital ultra-thin glomerular basement membrane, and nutcracker phenomenon.

2. Systemic diseases

(1) Bleeding diseases. Such as hemophilia, leukemia, aplastic anemia, etc. (2) Connective tissue diseases. Systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, polyarteritis nodosa, scleroderma, etc. (3) Infectious diseases. Hemorrhagic fever, filariasis, infectious bacterial endocarditis, scarlet fever, etc. (4) Cardiovascular disease. Congestive heart failure, renal embolism, renal vein thrombosis. (5) Endocrine and metabolic diseases. Gout, diabetic nephropathy, hyperparathyroidism. (6) Physicochemical factors. Such as food allergies, radiation exposure, poisons, after exercise, etc.

Once your urine turns red, you should seek medical attention promptly to find the root cause to avoid delaying the disease.
