What to do if you can’t sleep soundly at night

It is well known that the quality of sleep determines the quality of life. One third of a person's life is spent in sleep. If a person's sleep quality is too poor, his physical health will be greatly affected. For example, shallow sleep and waking up easily are both abnormal behaviors. So, how should we deal with such situations? How can we have good sleep quality in our daily life?

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the reason for having trouble sleeping is mainly related to three issues:

The first is lung heat, the second is liver heat, and the third is blood and qi. So first of all, we should pay attention to the protection and maintenance of these aspects.

Generally speaking, you can use acupuncture, massage or medicine to relieve lung heat. When you massage, you can massage the Chize point on the inside of the elbow. You can also massage the Taichong point on the foot to relieve liver heat. Massage the Jiquan point under the armpit to relieve heart fire. In this way, you can relieve both lung heat and liver heat during massage.

Another simple method is to soak your feet in hot water. If possible, you can buy massage and foot soaking equipment. The time is between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Pay attention to heating. The time cannot be too short. The specific situation depends on the individual's physical condition. But the purpose of sweating must be achieved! Otherwise, there will be no effect.

Many people have this situation. In order to avoid being unable to sleep in the second half of the night, they dare not go to bed too early. In fact, this concept is wrong. The human body produces blood in the first half of the night, so sleep is good. Sleep in the second half of the night is not so important. So don't stay up late even if you feel sleepy.

Finish dinner and take a bath one hour before bedtime, and be ready for bed. Don't think about taking a nap, but sleep till dawn! Go to bed early and get up early, and have a regular sleep schedule. If you don't want to sleep, don't force yourself to sleep, you can listen to some light music to adjust your mood.

Here are some methods to regulate your qi and blood: tap the gallbladder meridian, go to bed early and get up early, and massage the pericardium meridian. Tap the gallbladder meridian: tap the four acupoints on the outside of the thigh every day with force. Four taps count as one. Tap each thigh fifty times a day, which is about two hundred times for each side. Because the thigh muscles and fat are very thick, you must use force and tap at a rhythm of about two times per second to effectively stimulate the acupoints. Go to bed early and get up early: get at least eight hours of sleep before midnight every week. Massage the pericardium meridian: massage the acupoints of the pericardium meridian. Once you find the acupoints, press them slightly until you feel obvious pain. Massage each acupoint for 2-3 minutes every day. In addition to the pericardium meridian, you should also massage the Danzhong point of the Ren meridian (between the two nipples) and the Kunlun point of the bladder meridian (the depression in front of the tendon behind the outer ankle). Massage of the Kunlun point should be performed before massaging the pericardium meridian, which makes it easier to drain pericardial effusion. This method can calm the mind, open the chest and relieve stuffiness, and calm the stomach. Drink hot milk, cook some blood-enriching food, such as red dates, wolfberries, and small walnuts, all of which have a calming effect. You can eat some of them before going to bed. Exercise more during the day, or go hiking. This way you will naturally sleep well at night~! Eat more high-protein foods, and take some vitamins B and C before going to bed. I also heard that drinking wild dates soaked in wine is very effective. You can also use Schisandra chinensis, soaked in water to relieve thirst. In summer, you can eat lotus seeds and white fungus, which are all good for sleep.

Mentally, you need to create a relaxed and happy mood for yourself so that you can lower your blood pressure and calm your mind. You cannot get angry or become depressed and negative. Before going to bed, don't keep thinking about why you can't sleep, and don't be too excited. Reduce psychological pressure, maintain mental balance, and eliminate tension.
