A patch of skin suddenly turned black

Nowadays, people are paying more and more attention to their health, especially skin problems, especially female friends. Many people find that a patch of their skin suddenly turns black and they don’t understand what’s going on. In fact, there are many reasons for this situation. In addition to normal skin aging, it may also be a symptom of a certain disease. You can try the methods described below to check it out. If you are worried, you can go to the hospital for a check-up.

In addition to natural aging factors, there are many reasons why your skin darkens. Common causes are:

1. The foods you like are rich in zinc, copper and iron

Certain foods are also the cause of darkening of the skin. Foods rich in metal elements such as copper, iron, and zinc have this disadvantage. These metal elements can directly or indirectly increase the amount and activity of substances such as tyrosine and tyrosinase that are related to melanin production. These foods mainly include animal liver, kidney, oysters, shrimp, crab, beans, walnuts, black sesame, raisins, etc.

2. Drug affinity for melanin

Many drugs also change the normal skin color. For example, chloroquine has a strong affinity for melanin, which aggravates skin discoloration; about 10% of patients taking quinine develop blue pigment spots on their faces. Sedatives pose the greatest threat to skin color. Those who take them for a long time will develop butterfly spots on their face and neck, and their arms and other parts will turn brown-gray, light blue or light purple. In addition, repeated use of mercury-containing ointments can also leave brown pigmentation on the affected area. There are more anticancer drugs that cause skin color changes.

3. The natural environment damages the skin

The culprit is ultraviolet rays, which stimulate the melanin in the skin and induce skin lesions such as freckles. Even on cloudy days, the "ultraviolet rays" are still strong. Ultraviolet rays can cause skin darkening, aging, and wrinkles. Human skin's response to ultraviolet rays causes redness, tanning and increased thickness of the skin's epidermis in acute reactions, and leads to skin aging in chronic reactions. In the summer, if you still want to have fair and flawless skin, you should do a good job of sun protection, especially when the UV index reaches 7 or above, it is more likely to damage the skin. You should strengthen sun protection and don't be afraid of trouble and cause regret in the future. In fact, humid air, sunlight coming through car windows, and even indoor light bulbs and computers are all the culprits that cause your skin to become darker.

4. Certain diseases are triggers

Many diseases can change the normal skin color and make it darker. The most common ones include endocrine system diseases, chronic wasting diseases, malnutrition diseases, etc. These diseases can cause the skin to turn brown or dark brown, which is particularly obvious in exposed areas such as the face, back of the hands, joints, or areas that are under pressure and friction. For example, chronic liver disease can cause chloasma on the face or darkening of the area around the eye sockets. In addition, the melanin of melanosis patients is mostly accumulated on the face, especially on the forehead, cheeks, behind the ears and neck, which is very obvious. Another type of disease is skin diseases, especially skin diseases caused by allergies to certain foods, such as raw onions, raw garlic, peppers, peppers, leeks, wine, fish, shrimp, kelp, chicken, duck, pig's trotters, pig's head and other foods, which can also induce skin allergies, resulting in rashes and finally leaving pigments to make the skin darker.

Why a patch of skin suddenly turns black

Melanosis is a chronic skin inflammation caused by workers' long-term exposure to asphalt, coal tar, petroleum products or long-term inhalation of volatiles of these substances, which eventually leads to skin pigmentation. It accounts for 2% to 5% of occupational skin diseases and is scattered in various industries. This disease is more common in middle-aged female patients, often occurs in winter, has a long incubation period, and the course of the disease progresses slowly. Most patients have a clear history of occupational exposure. The rash is prone to occur in exposed areas (face, forearms, neck and limbs). There is mild itching before the onset of the disease, and edematous erythema appears on the skin. After repeated attacks, diffuse or reticular pigmentation spots may occur, which are light brown to dark brown, accompanied by hair cell vasodilation, acne-like lesions, small black lichen-like follicular papules, and mild skin atrophy. Some patients may experience systemic symptoms such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, and loss of appetite.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the health of the human body's internal organs directly affects the face, so the function of internal organs is also a factor that leads to the production of melanin.

1. Lungs: responsible for breathing, connected to skin and fur. The appearance of spots is related to lung heat.

2. Heart: It controls blood vessels and consciousness. If the heart blood is insufficient, the complexion will be dull.

3. Kidney: Kidney is the foundation of one’s constitution. If the kidney yang is deficient and the kidney essence is insufficient, it will lead to lack of energy and low temperament.

4. Liver: If the liver blood is insufficient, the liver fire is increased, and the liver functions abnormally, hormones cannot be excreted normally, and facial lesions will occur.

5. Spleen: It controls muscles, limbs, food digestion, absorption and transportation of nutrients. If the spleen is out of balance, it will cause pale skin, yellow face, premature aging, and prone to chloasma and dark circles under the eyes.

If your skin becomes dark, don't be too scared. If you are still worried, it is best to go to the dermatology department of a regular hospital for professional diagnosis and examination in time. Find out the cause as soon as possible so that it can be resolved early. This way you will feel relieved.
