Is it good to take a bath with soap?

Most families have soap, and soap has many uses. The most common use is to wash clothes. When there are some sweat or oil stains on clothes, washing with soap is a better method, because soap has a good ability to remove grease. Because soap can be used frequently to absorb, there will be many germs on people's hands, and soap has a strong bactericidal effect. Some people also use soap to take a bath. Is it good to take a bath like this?

Is it good to take a bath with soap?

Using soap will harm the skin because it contains alkali (NaOH). It is not advisable to use alkaline soap when washing your hands, face, or taking a bath. Even perfumed soap should be used less. It destroys the acid-base balance of the skin, making it prone to dry skin and dandruff in winter.

If you must use it, use a relatively mild shower gel and use a small amount. Soaps also have different alkalinity levels, and the same goes for bath gels. Generally speaking, soap is more alkaline than bath gel. Therefore, for people with oily skin, using a soap with a high alkalinity can remove grease and prevent clogging of sweat pores. However, people with dry skin or children should use alkaline soaps with caution.

The soaps on the market are divided into acidic, alkaline, and mild neutral. Soaps with alkaline ingredients have strong cleaning ability and are more suitable for people who are prone to oily skin and sweating. Soap with neutral ingredients is relatively mild and more suitable for people with dry skin. Acidic soaps do not have such a strong cleaning ability and are more suitable for children.

Because the soap making process generally uses some relatively low-cost animal fats, such as some cow and sheep fats, and may also use some high-quality plant fats, such as the common coconut oil and glycerin. During the production process, although a coagulant is added in the chemical composition to solidify it into a complete bar of soap. Therefore, relatively speaking, the chemical ingredients contained in soap are lower than those in shower gel, and it is safer and healthier.

Although soap is alkaline and has strong cleaning power, it will take away the oil on the skin surface. Frequent use of soap-based cleaning products will wash away the keratinized cells on the skin surface through mechanical and chemical effects, prompting cell division and proliferation. If these keratinized cells are removed frequently and continuously, the protective layer on the surface of the skin will be damaged, causing the epidermis to swell. This swelling is caused by excessive dryness, adhesion and cell shedding in the breast area.

If you use soap to take a shower every night, the long-term accumulation will alkaline the local skin of the breast, promote the proliferation of alkaline bacteria on the skin, and make it difficult to acidify the local breast. The local skin covering the breast will be covered with a protective layer again, and it will take a long time to return to normal. In addition, washing with soap also washes away the substance that protects the local skin lubrication of the breast - the oil.

Therefore, for the health of the skin, it is recommended to use shower gel when taking a bath. Although the cleaning ability of shower gel is slightly weaker than that of soap, its skin beautifying effect is much better than soap. It has the effect of whitening and moisturizing the skin. After taking a shower, it can make the skin smoother and has a better moisture-locking effect, and is less irritating to the skin.
