Tips for treating stitches

Stitching in the stitches is a very common phenomenon in life. In traditional Chinese medicine, stitching in the stitches is considered an internal injury. Generally, stitching in the stitches is caused by damage to a person's qi and blood, internal organs or meridians. Therefore, if the human body is exposed to external stimuli, it is easy to experience pain in one side of the chest or back. Stitching in the stitches needs to be treated in time. So what are some tips for treating stitching in the stitches? Here are some tips for relieving stitches in the side.

The cause of a stitch in the side is that the body is in a static state, but it is performing too sudden movement, such as weightlifting, pushing a cart, jumping, climbing or carrying heavy objects. Excessive or improper force or sudden injury to the air intake causes the air to gather in the chest and cannot dissipate. From the perspective of Western medicine, this sudden high-intensity activity causes the muscles to enter a state of tension for a short period of time, but the internal organs are very inert and cannot move immediately to meet the nutrients and oxygen needed for muscle activity, so the respiratory muscles become tense and spasms occur. Or when the body needs more oxygen for activity, if you breathe improperly and just speed up your breathing rate without deepening your breathing, the oxygen still cannot be met by the muscles, which can also cause stitches in the side.

1. Main acupoints for treating diseases: Tanzhong, Zhangmen, Qimen, Zhongfu, Yunmen, Dazhui, Feishu, Geshu, Jueyinshu, Xinshu, Neiguan. Acupoints: For patients with subluxation of costovertebral joints or thoracic facet joints, add back-shu points at corresponding locations.

Massage therapy method 1: Rub the painful area with a hot towel, and then apply a hot compress with a wet hot towel for 3 to 5 minutes. Then use the base of your palm or the pads of your four fingers to gently massage the painful point and its surrounding area for 3 minutes. Then press the Zhangmen, Qimen, Dabao, Tanzhong, Riyue, Zhongfu, Feishu, Geshu and other acupoints for 1 minute each.

Method 2: Use your thumb to pluck the spasmodic cord-like muscle, horizontally from the inside to the outside, until the cord changes from hard to soft and smaller.

Method 3: Take a deep breath and hold it. Use your fists to hit the left and right sides of your chest from top to bottom, then take a slow, deep breath. After repeating this several times, the respiratory muscles will relax and the pain will be relieved.

Method 4: While taking a long and slow deep breath, squeeze the painful area with your hands to relieve the pain.

Method 5: When another person massages, press one hand on the painful area and the other hand on the back, and rotate and massage with both palms at the same time

2. Gua Sha Therapy

Take the scraper at a 45-degree angle and scrape the bladder meridian from Dagan, Fengmen, Feishu, Yinyu, Xinshu, diaphragm, liver, spleen to Shenshu. Then scrape the Du channel from top to bottom, from Datuizhi to Zhiyang, then scrape the Ren channel from Zhongyuan to Zhongyuan, then scrape Zhangmen, Qimen 1, Riyue, Neiguan and Zusanli Taichong, 2 minutes for each point

3. Cupping therapy

Cupping method: Place the cupping jar on the painful area, that is, cupping is done where it hurts, and leave the cupping jar on for about 10 minutes

Cupping method: Lie prone, place the cupping jar on the back, and then push and pull along the Huatuo Jiaji acupoints for about 10-15 minutes. Hua Tuo Jiaji acupoints are placed on the first cupping jar until red bruises appear on the skin.

From the thoracic vertebra to the fifth thoracic vertebra, push each vertebra 0.5 inches lateral to the inferior aspect of the lata. The simplest method is to push and pull the cupping jar along both sides of the spine.

4. Small method, big effect

The patient stands, relaxes his whole body, holds his breath, and leans back slightly. The other person stands back to back with the patient, arms clasped around their waists. Then bend your knees and push the patient up, lift his feet off the ground, and let him cough hard while shaking his waist and back. Finally, slowly put the patient down.

5. Prevention is better than cure

Stitches can be prevented by practicing proper breathing during physical activities. First of all, before strenuous activity, you should do warm-up exercises to allow the respiratory muscles to adapt to a faster frequency of contraction. Then you need to pay attention to the depth of your breathing. The correct way is to take deep breaths, exhale slowly and deeply, and exhale forcefully. This way you can inhale a large amount of air to meet the muscles' need for oxygen during exercise, and then adjust your breathing rhythm to coordinate it with the frequency of exercise. When exercising in winter, try to breathe through your nose because the air you inhale through your nose is warm. If you breathe through your mouth, try to keep your mouth half open to allow cold air to enter through the gaps between your teeth to prevent cold air from irritating your internal organs. After the side stitch is eliminated, you can continue to engage in physical activities without any harm or impact on your body.

The best way to treat stitch in the side is massage. Through certain stimulation techniques, blocked meridians can be unblocked, Qi and blood can flow smoothly, and the stitch in the side will disappear. If you can grasp one of the above five points well, you can benefit from it all your life.
