Tips for caring for your leather bag

Tips for caring for your leather bag

Leather bags are one of the most commonly used items in people's daily lives. When people go out, no matter they are men or women, they will carry a leather bag, either a big bag or a small bag. They usually use bags to carry some trivial things. Moreover, an exquisite and beautiful bag can not only show a person's temperament, but also show a person's aesthetics. So what are the tips for leather bag care?

A. Leather maintenance methods:

1. If there are stains on the leather, wipe it with a clean, wet sponge dipped in mild detergent, and then let it dry naturally. Try it out in an inconspicuous corner before using it.

2. If a drink is spilled on leather goods, immediately absorb it with a clean cloth or sponge, wipe it with a damp cloth, and let it dry naturally. Never blow it dry with a hair dryer.

3. If it is stained with grease, wipe it clean with a dry cloth. The rest will dissipate naturally or be cleaned with detergent. Do not scrub it with water.

4. If you find any holes, damage or burns, do not repair them by yourself. Please contact professional service personnel directly.

5. If the leather is torn or damaged, please ask a professional to repair it in time. If it is a small crack, you can apply some egg white on the crack and the crack will be glued together. Minor scratches on the surface of high-quality leather goods can be faded by the body temperature and oil of the hands.

6. Leather products should be wiped regularly with leather care liquid.

7. When the leather is suede (deerskin, suede, etc.), use a soft animal hair brush to clean it. Usually this type of leather will be stained with oil, which is easy to spread and difficult to remove, so it is best to stay away from things with attachments such as chewing gum or candy. When cleaning this type of leather, be sure to wipe it gently to avoid using too much force and causing the bag to turn white and leave marks.

8. Patent leather is prone to cracking, so you must be especially careful when using it. Normally, just wipe it with a soft cloth like a handkerchief. If cracks appear on the leather, you can use a cloth dipped in a little special grease and then wipe it gently.

9. If leather goods are accidentally exposed to rain, wipe off the water droplets and place them in a ventilated and cool place to air dry. Do not dry with fire or expose to the sun.

10. When wrinkles accidentally appear on leather goods, you can use an iron set to the wool temperature and iron it flat through a cloth.

11. If black spots appear on leather products, try wiping them gently with alcohol dipped in leather of the same color.

12. To maintain the hardware on leather goods, wipe them with a dry cloth after use. If there is slight oxidation, try gently rubbing the hardware with flour or toothpaste.

13. Lacquer leather usually only needs to be wiped with a soft cloth.

14. To maintain glossy leather, please apply a small amount of leather maintenance oil on a soft cloth, and then rub the leather with a little force. To maintain dull leather, usually just wipe it gently with a cloth. If the dirt is serious, try to wipe it gently with a rubber similar to an eraser to remove it.

15. Suede leather must be cleaned of surface dust and dirt with a soft animal hair brush. If the contamination is severe, try to use an eraser to gently spread the dirt in all directions to remove it.

B. Daily precautions for leather goods:

1. When cleaning leather goods, use soft cotton cloth and leather wax to clean them, so as not to damage the leather surface. Do not wash leather goods directly in water.

2. Avoid contact with acid, alkaline substances, corrosive substances, oil, and rain.

3. Avoid collision or friction between leather products and hard objects to avoid scratching or cutting the surface.

4. Avoid putting heavy objects in your leather bag to prevent wrinkles and deformation.

5. Do not expose furniture containing leather products to the sun, as this will cause the leather to dry out and fade.

6. Dip a dry towel in water and wring it dry once a week, and repeat several times to wipe gently.

7. Maintain leather goods regularly. Different leathers have different qualities. It is best to check the leather quality before use. Then test a small amount on the bottom or inside of the bag in an inconspicuous place. After confirming that there are no problems, use it on the entire leather product.

8. When using leather maintenance oil, first apply the oil on a clean cotton cloth, then wipe the surface evenly. Avoid applying the oil directly on the leather to avoid damaging the leather.

9. When leather goods are damp or wet, they should be air-dried immediately or blown dry with warm air.

10. When leather goods are to be stored for a long time, moisture-proof agent should be placed inside the leather goods and they should be sealed in plastic bags and stored in a cool place.
