1. Rest, or sleep, is indeed a good way to relieve fatigue

There is a theory that sleep is an active inhibitory process that causes sleep when the inhibitory process spreads widely in the cerebral cortex and spreads to the subcortical centers. To put it simply, because of continuous work, certain hormones in the body change, and then the brain receives this signal and feels tired and needs to sleep.

2. But the fatigue from overtime work does not make you fall asleep

Most theories about fatigue and sleep agree that both mental and physical fatigue are the result of the development of protective inhibition in the cerebral cortex. In other words, whether you are extremely tired from using your brain or are extremely tired after exercise, it can trigger the need for sleep. Some friends may ask, I am also very tired after working overtime, so I should have a strong need for sleep, so why can’t I sleep well? Or even though you have slept for a long time, you still feel tired and yawn a lot after waking up.

In fact, I'm afraid more people are suffering from mental fatigue. In fact, it means "heart tired" - psychologically. In this case, although working overtime requires using the brain, it is not yet to the extent of causing mental fatigue; and because the whole time you sit in the office, there is basically no physical activity, so it is far from causing physical fatigue. At this time, you really feel tired, but your brain may not receive enough signals requiring sleep, so the quality of your sleep may not be high. After waking up, I thought about my work schedule and felt tired before I even started working.
