How to quickly reduce swelling after a fall

How to quickly reduce swelling after a fall

When we do intense exercise, we often experience local redness and swelling due to falls. When this happens, we should not panic, but must use the right method to reduce the swelling. If the method is inappropriate, it will cause the injury to worsen. Therefore, when treating redness and swelling, you must not deal with it blindly, but need to reduce the swelling reasonably based on scientific principles. So how can you quickly reduce swelling after a fall? , the following method is introduced

01

We can apply cold compress as soon as redness, swelling and bruising form. Remember, do not apply hot compress within one day as it will aggravate the condition. Wait until one day later before applying hot compress and taking some blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines. We can use ice packs for cold compresses. You can choose to put something between the ice pack and the skin, such as a towel. Twenty minutes each time is enough. The ice compress should be applied every two hours.

02

You can also put a towel or other soakable items in cold water. If you can add ice, that's the best. It's best to put two or more towels and replace them for ice compresses on the patient. Change them every five minutes. You can apply cold compresses multiple times a day. If your hands or feet are injured, you can also soak them directly in ice water, but not for more than fifteen minutes.

03

If twenty-four hours have passed, you can apply hot compress. There are two types of hot compress: dry and wet hot compress. For dry hot compress, place a hot water bag filled with hot water on the affected area for twenty to thirty minutes each time. You can also place a towel in between. The main method of wet hot compress is to soak two or more towels in hot water, then wring them slightly and apply them to the affected area for half an hour each time.

Note:

Sometimes if you accidentally get injured, or if you accidentally cause blood stasis due to some other reasons, don't panic, stay calm, just apply cold compress, and you can apply hot compress after a day. You can also take oral medicine to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.
