How to stop isolation quickly

Hiccups are very common in our daily life. For example, eating too much or eating too fast may cause hiccups. Sometimes, hiccups are really annoying. Certain methods can be used to improve the situation and stop hiccups quickly. For example, bend over after drinking water, or take a deep breath and hold it, which can all help stop hiccups quickly.

How to stop isolation quickly

1. Bend over to drink water

When you have hiccups, you can drink a few sips of warm water while bending over 90 degrees. Repeating this about 10 times can effectively solve the symptoms of hiccups. Our stomach is very close to the diaphragm. Drinking warm water and bending over can warm the diaphragm more effectively, and at the same time, it can also allow the internal organs to massage the diaphragm. Drinking boiled water can also stop hiccups, especially drinking slightly hot water. Take a big sip and swallow it in several times. Repeat several times and it can effectively relieve hiccups. Be careful not to let the water temperature be too high to prevent burns.

2. Distract your attention

Eliminate tension and negative stimuli and distract their attention. When the elderly focus their attention on other things, the hiccups will naturally stop. What to do if you can’t stop hiccuping: Taking a teaspoon of sugar and swallowing it dry (without water) is an effective method. It can stop hiccups after a few minutes. Sugar in the mouth may change the original nerve impulses to prevent the diaphragm muscles from contracting intermittently.

3. Stretch your tongue

When the hiccups continue, you can grab the tip of the tongue with a piece of clean gauze and stretch it outwards. You can stop when you feel gas coming out of your abdomen. You will find that the hiccups will disappear immediately.

4. Press and pinch acupoints

① Pinch and press the tip of the middle finger: Use your left and right fingers respectively to pinch the top of the middle finger hard. After about 1 to 2 minutes, the hiccups will be stopped. Remember to use appropriate force and maintain the pain for about 1-2 minutes! ② Pinch and press the Neiguan point: The Neiguan point is about three horizontal fingers above the wrist. There will be obvious soreness when pressing the right point! As above, press for 1-2 minutes on each side. ③ Press Shaoshang point: Shaoshang point is located on the thumb side. Pressing this point can help relieve hiccups.

5. Holding your breath

① Take a deep breath first, then hold it for as long as possible, then exhale, and repeat several times. ② Put the mixed gas into a plastic bag and inhale it. The mixed gas contains 90% oxygen and 10% carbon dioxide, which can also stop hiccups.

6. Sneeze to stop hiccups

When you have hiccups, if you find a way to sneeze, it will stop the hiccups. You can sniff pepper with your nose to make you sneeze.
