Four common causes of rectal cancer

Four common causes of rectal cancer

Rectal cancer is a very serious intestinal disease that can cause the rectum to fail to function properly, causing great harm to the patient. What are the common causes of rectal cancer ? Here are some common causes of rectal cancer.

Common causes of colorectal cancer include:

1. Dietary factors: The so-called Western diet of high fat, high protein and low fiber is believed to be related to the cause of rectal cancer. Western countries are high-incidence areas of colorectal cancer and have a high incidence of rectal cancer. In contrast, the Banti tribe in South Africa consumes low-fat and fiber-rich rough food, and has a low incidence of rectal cancer. If these residents immigrate to areas with a high incidence of rectal cancer, the dietary structure will change, and the incidence will increase accordingly. Because high-fat and high-protein foods can increase the amount of methylcholanthracene in feces, it can cause increased bile acid secretion, which is decomposed into unsaturated polyunsaturated hydrocarbons by anaerobic bacteria in the intestines. Both of these substances are carcinogens. The reduction in the amount of cellulose slows down the speed of feces passing through the intestines, which increases the contact time between these carcinogens and the intestinal conjunctiva, resulting in an increased chance of cancer. This is a common cause of rectal cancer.

2. Adenoma canceration: Tubular polyps can become cancerous. Adenomas can be divided into three types: tubular adenomas, villous adenomas, and mixed adenomas. They are common causes of rectal cancer. Tubular adenomas have a high incidence rate, and villous adenomas have a high rate of canceration. Among adenomas, there are hereditary familial adenomas, which are considered precancerous lesions. They usually occur after the age of 30, but there are also cases where canceration occurs before the age of 20.

3. Genetic factors: In the families of patients with rectal cancer, there are many with a family history of cancer and many digestive tract tumors. Due to the change of genes in normal cells, cancer patients inherit a susceptibility, coupled with certain stimulating factors, which makes tissue cells grow rapidly and develop into cancer. Cell genetic genes mutate and become malignant cells with genetic characteristics, which manifests as a family history of cancer. This is also a common cause of rectal cancer.

4. Inflammatory bowel disease: Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are caused by the destruction of intestinal mucosa, the proliferation of ulcer repair, and the formation of granulation tissue, which leads to cancer. Schistosomiasis eggs are deposited in the rectal mucosa, and chronic inflammation stimulates cancer.

The above is an introduction to the common causes of rectal cancer. I hope it will be helpful to you. For more questions about the causes of rectal cancer, you can consult our online experts, who will answer them in detail.
