Nowadays, we often meet friends with high blood lipids in our lives. Especially nowadays, bad eating habits and dietary structure have caused many children to suffer from hyperlipidemia. Although hyperlipidemia is a chronic disease that can be controlled by medication, what exactly causes this disease, hyperlipidemia, in our bodies? Here are some common causes. What is the cause of high blood lipids? 1. Improper diet When the diet is abnormal or excessive, it may cause signs of obesity. As too much fat enters the body, if the human body cannot convert, absorb and digest it in time, it will stagnate in the blood and the blood lipids will rise. Long-term improper diet or excessive drinking can damage the spleen and stomach, disrupt their functioning, and cause the diet to be improperly digested and unable to be transformed into essence to nourish the whole body. Instead, it turns into fat and mixes into the blood, causing elevated blood lipids. The former is a real symptom, while the latter is a combination of real and virtual symptom. This is the difference between the two. 2. Lifestyle People who are accustomed to sitting still (do not like to exercise) have higher plasma triglyceride concentrations than those who exercise regularly. Both long-term and short-term physical exercise can reduce plasma triglyceride levels. Exercise can also increase lipoprotein activity. Long-term and persistent exercise can also increase the removal of exogenous triglycerides from plasma. 3. Age and gender The effect of age itself can be an increase in plasma cholesterol. The activity of LDL receptors in the elderly is reduced because the cholesterol content in the liver increases, which further inhibits the activity of LDL receptors. Before the age of 45-50, women's serum cholesterol levels are lower than men's, and then become higher than men's, perhaps because of the decrease in estrogen in the body. Estrogen is known to increase the activity of LDL receptors in humans and mammals. Early symptoms of high blood lipids There is currently no absolutely unified standard for the "normal value" (appropriate level) of blood lipids at home and abroad. It varies with different periods, regions, races, etc. The normal blood lipid standards in my country are: (1) total cholesterol ≤ 200 mg/dl or low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ≤ 120 mg/dl. (2) Serum triglycerides ≤150 mg/dl. (3) High-density lipoprotein cholesterol ≥35 mg/dl. If one of items 1 or 2 (with or without item 3) is abnormal, a reexamination is required after 2-3 weeks. If the structure still exceeds the above standards, hyperlipidemia can be diagnosed. The symptoms of hyperlipidemia vary according to the degree. The early symptoms of hyperlipidemia can be divided into the following aspects: First: Mild hyperlipidemia usually does not cause any discomfort, but the absence of symptoms does not mean that blood lipids are not high. Regularly checking blood lipids is crucial. Second: The general symptoms of hyperlipidemia are: dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, forgetfulness, limb numbness, chest tightness, palpitations, etc., which may be confused with the clinical symptoms of other diseases. Some patients have high blood lipids but no symptoms, and hyperlipidemia is often discovered during physical examinations and blood tests. In addition, hyperlipidemia is often accompanied by overweight and obesity. Third: When high blood lipids are severe, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, chest tightness, shortness of breath, palpitations, chest pain, fatigue, crooked mouth, inability to speak, and limb numbness will appear, which will eventually lead to serious diseases such as coronary heart disease and cerebral stroke, and corresponding manifestations will appear. Fourth: Long-term high blood lipids and atherosclerosis caused by lipid deposition in the vascular endothelium will cause coronary heart disease and peripheral arterial disease, etc., manifested as angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, stroke and intermittent claudication (pain after limb movement). |
