Dandruff under the microscope

Dandruff under the microscope

Dandruff is very annoying, especially for those who attach great importance to self-image. Having dandruff is simply unforgivable and a very painful thing. So do you know how dandruff is formed? Studies have shown that this is related to the loss of ecological balance of the human scalp. So what does dandruff look like under a microscope? Let us take a brief look at it below.

Ordinary optical microscopes are based on the imaging principle of convex lenses, and they must undergo two imaging processes through convex lenses. The first imaging process is through the objective lens (convex lens 1). At this time, the object should be between one and two focal lengths of the objective lens (convex lens 1). According to the principles of physics, the image should be a magnified, inverted real image. Then, the first image is used as the "object" and the second imaging process is performed through the eyepiece. Since we observe on the other side of the eyepiece, according to the principles of optics, the second image should be a virtual image, so that the image and the object are on the same side. Therefore, the first image should be within one focal length of the eyepiece (convex lens 2). After the second imaging process, the second image is an enlarged, upright virtual image. If it is relative to the real object, it should be an inverted, enlarged virtual image.

Dandruff is the product of the metabolism of epidermal cells on the human head. The physiological process of the epidermis of the head is called the keratinization process. The epidermis forms cells from the basal layer, proliferates, divides, and gradually moves to the upper layer. The cells also gradually form keratin and become a nucleus-free, lifeless stratum corneum. The dry dead cells fall off automatically in the form of scales or flakes, which is commonly known as dandruff. Medically known as pityriasis capitis

The root cause of dandruff is the destruction of the scalp's ecological balance

Dandruff is caused by the destruction of the ecological balance of the scalp. In fact, a healthy scalp ecological environment is maintained by three major balances: oil, flora, and metabolic balance. When the oil secretion of the scalp is unbalanced, the scalp will become oily; when the scalp flora environment is unbalanced and harmful bacteria multiply in large numbers, itching will occur; and when the scalp stratum corneum metabolizes too quickly and falls off, dandruff is formed. Microscope images are flat images, and you can't see the inside of dandruff, except for transparent objective lenses. When you observe hair with a microscope, you can only see the scales on the surface. If you want to see the inside, you have to make a slice
