How to Make Your Own Soap

How to Make Your Own Soap

As everyone pays more attention to health preservation, many friends have begun to use handmade soap. The soaps sold on the market generally have a very fragrant smell, but this kind of soap often contains chemical substances and cannot achieve the effect of real handmade soap. Moreover, once people with skin allergies use it, it will cause damage to the skin. Therefore, the safest way is to make it yourself. So how to make soap yourself?

First, how to make your own soap? Steps: Use an electronic scale to weigh 53-56 grams of alkali (alkali is more suitable for oily skin) into a bottle, measure 180CC of distilled water, pour it into the bottle, stir quickly with chopsticks, and the turbid liquid will gradually become clear. Use a measuring cylinder to measure 500cc of olive oil and pour it into a large bowl.

Second, soak the oil in a basin of hot water to raise the temperature to 40℃, and soak the alkaline water in a basin of cold water to cool down to 40℃. Place a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature at any time. When the temperature is around 40°C, tighten the bottle cap with the hole pierced, and then let the alkaline water flow slowly and carefully into the olive oil while stirring the solution quickly. During stirring, you will find that the color will gradually become lighter. Stirring for 40 minutes to ensure that it is fully and evenly mixed can ensure a faster and more successful saponification reaction. After completion, leave the whisk inside, cover it with plastic wrap, and stir it every few hours to allow the separated oil and water to blend again and again. You will gradually find that the solution becomes thicker and the oil-water separation phenomenon becomes less and less.

Third, when you lift the whisk and the sticky liquid slowly flows down to the point where it can draw on the surface, you can pour it into the mold. If you want to add essential oils, add a few drops before pouring into the mold and stir for 2 minutes. Put the mold with soap liquid into the foam box, cover it, and it will solidify in about 24 hours. Then take it out and leave it for about 24 hours. At this point the shape is fixed but not yet very hard, so you can cut it. Do not pull back and forth when cutting, but press down gently and slowly.

How to make your own soap? After cutting, cover it with thick paper towel and place it on the lid of the paper box in a dark and ventilated place. It can be used after one month. Don't use it in advance, as soap that has not completed its final reaction will still burn your skin. It is best to wear thin rubber gloves and glasses during the production process. Be careful not to let the liquid splash out when stirring, as it will burn your body or clothes.
