The principle of using soapy water to repel mosquitoes

Summer is the season when mosquitoes are rampant. Once bitten, it will cause unbearable itching and even red bumps. In this case, many people use soapy water to apply it, which has a very good anti-itching effect. This is mainly because soap contains sodium salts of higher fatty acids, which are alkaline after dissolving in water. After combining with the formic acid in mosquitoes, it will generate water again, and the previous itching will no longer exist.

1. The principle of using soapy water to repel mosquitoes

At home, you can apply strong soap to quickly relieve itching, or dip soap in water and apply it to the red and swollen areas.

The reason is the sodium salt of higher fatty acids in soap. The sodium salt of this fatty acid is alkaline (containing OH-) after hydrolysis. The aqueous solution of formic acid contains H2O. Because the OH- in soapy water neutralizes with the H2O in formic acid to form H2O, it can quickly eliminate pain and itching.

2. How to stop itching quickly?

1. Essential Oil.

When bitten by a mosquito, the skin will become red, swollen and itchy, and you will scratch it with your hands from time to time. The most commonly used method to relieve itching at this time is to apply Fengyoujing directly to the red and swollen area, which can quickly relieve the itching and swelling.

2. Soak in salt water.

Sometimes, when our soles are accidentally bitten by mosquitoes, they feel sore and itchy. The anti-itching medicine applied to the soles of the feet will easily lose its effectiveness due to walking. In fact, we can take a basin of water, put one or two spoons of salt, add a little water to melt and mix, and then soak our feet in it. This can soften the lumps and also have a certain anti-itching effect.

3. Fresh aloe vera.

If you are bitten by mosquitoes under your nose or around your eyes, if you apply some medicine, it may contain mint, which will irritate your nose or eyes. At this time, we can cut a small piece of aloe vera, wash it, and apply it to the bite, which will quickly relieve the itching.

4. Garlic slices.

If some people are allergic to medicines or cannot find alternative medicines for the time being, they can cut a piece of fresh garlic and apply it to the red and swollen area of mosquito bites. It can quickly reduce inflammation and relieve itching. Of course, it should be noted that if the skin is allergic to garlic, do not use it.

5. Eye drops.

Generally, eye drops have the function of disinfection and sterilization, and will not cause any irritation. When the red and swollen parts of the body are scratched, it is most suitable to use eye drops to apply the red and swollen parts. It does not have the irritation of other medicines.
