But sometimes, due to the use of a thicker needle or the person being injected being excited at the time, the blood circulation is very fast and the pressure on the wound is short, a small amount of bleeding will occur. If the bleeding does not stop, it is normal and does not require any treatment. If the bleeding does not stop, you should see a doctor.

Bleeding after an injection has nothing to do with the depth of the needle insertion. Bleeding usually occurs when the capillaries are punctured. Generally no effect on the body. If a hematoma occurs during a stroke, hot compresses can be applied after 24 hours.

If no blood is returned during aspiration, it means that the needle has not entered any larger blood vessels, that is, the injection solution can reach the muscle tissue and be absorbed by the muscles. However, there are capillaries distributed in the muscle tissue, and the needle enters from the skin to the muscle, and there are also many capillaries. When the needle is removed, there may be residual blood at the needle tip. As long as the coagulation function is normal, the capillaries will quickly contract and stop the bleeding on their own. There is no need to worry. The main thing to pay attention to during intramuscular injection is not to damage the sciatic nerve. Of course, it is best to avoid intramuscular injections, which are a major contributing factor to iliotibial band contracture (snapping hip).
