What are the benefits of boiling water in an iron kettle?

With the continuous development of living standards in real society, boiling water has become a very convenient thing, and water dispensers can replace kettles, etc., but iron kettles are also a common appliance for boiling water. There are many benefits of using iron kettles to boil water. Generally speaking, iron kettles have stronger heat retention capabilities, and the water temperature will be higher when boiled. In addition, iron can be decomposed in iron kettles to supplement the iron elements needed by the body.

The benefits of boiling water in an iron kettle

The old iron kettle can increase the water temperature and has strong heat storage capacity. Generally speaking, the temperature of boiling water in an old iron kettle can reach 97℃, or even above 100℃, which can fully soften the water quality. It is particularly suitable for brewing old tea or boiling tea, especially Pu'er tea, while the temperature of ordinary stainless steel kettle can only reach 93℃. Water boiled in an iron kettle can release divalent iron ions, forming a mountain spring effect, making the water taste thick, full and smooth. Brewing tea can effectively remove the musty smell in tea. Drinking water boiled in an iron kettle has a very good health-preserving effect. When heated, the iron kettle will release a large amount of divalent iron, which reacts with tannins, tea polyphenols, etc. in tea to supplement the iron needed by the human body.

Precautions for boiling water in an iron kettle

1. When boiling water in an iron kettle, fill it 60% to 80% full (60% is recommended for kettles that are small at the top and large at the bottom) to prevent the water from overflowing from the spout after boiling.

2. When there is insufficient water in the pot, add hot water to replenish it to prevent the pot from cracking due to excessive temperature difference. Adding hot water when the kettle is at a low temperature or pouring cold water when the kettle is at a high temperature may cause the kettle to crack.

A better approach is:

(1) Use two or more iron kettles alternately.

(2) If you only have one iron kettle, you can add hot water to replenish the insufficient water in the kettle. This can avoid excessive temperature differences.

3. The most suitable heat source for iron kettles is charcoal fire. Especially in winter, using charcoal fire to make tea creates a more atmospheric atmosphere. Do not use a microwave to heat it. If you use an electric stove, gas stove or induction cooker, it is recommended to use moderate energy heating (about 1000W) to facilitate the slow release of iron, increase the taste of drinking water, and help the body absorb minerals.

4. During or after heating, use the kettle lid fork or tongs to open the lid, and pay attention to the release of steam to avoid overflow and burns. There is no anti-scalding design on the lid button, so be sure not to open the lid directly with your hands.

5. Except for boiling water, do not leave water in the kettle. After brewing tea, quickly pour out the remaining water in the pot and let it dry by itself using the residual heat. Do not cover the kettle before it has completely cooled down, otherwise the steam in the kettle will condense into water droplets as the temperature drops, causing rust. (Remember not to heat an empty kettle to remove moisture, as this will damage the kettle.)

6. Do not dry-boil the kettle without water in it, otherwise it will shorten the life of the iron kettle and may also crack the kettle.

7. When boiling water in an iron kettle or when the kettle is still warm, wipe the outside of the kettle with tea water. This can help maintain the iron kettle, and it will naturally emit a charming and lovely luster over time.

8. Remember to leave the kettle unattended while it is boiling water or making tea. Please be sure to turn off the power and the engine before leaving.

9. The iron kettle should be placed in a dry place to avoid moisture. Once you are sure that the kettle will not be used for a long time, after the last use, make sure there is no moisture left in the kettle, place charcoal, bamboo charcoal or unused newspaper in the kettle, and then cover it with a plastic bag to isolate it from moisture and dust.
