The role and efficacy of lincomycin

The development of medical technology has extended people's lifespan and improved their quality of life. In the past, the number of deaths due to infection was very high. On the one hand, it was because of the lack of medical drugs and people could not take medicine or injections in time after being infected. On the other hand, it was because the types of bacteria causing the infection were relatively complex and antibiotics could not effectively treat them. Lincomycin is a new type of antibacterial drug.

Lincomycin hydrochloride injection is used for respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, female reproductive tract infections, pelvic infections, and abdominal infections caused by sensitive Staphylococci, Streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and anaerobic bacteria. For the latter two types of diseases, this product can be used alone or in combination with other antibacterial drugs depending on the situation. In addition, this product can be used as an alternative drug for patients who have indications for the use of penicillin, such as patients who are allergic to penicillin or who are not suitable for penicillin.

Adverse Reactions

1. Gastrointestinal reactions: symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc.; in severe cases, there are abdominal colic, abdominal tenderness, severe diarrhea (watery or purulent), accompanied by fever, abnormal thirst and fatigue (pseudomembranous colitis); diarrhea, enteritis and pseudomembranous colitis may occur in the early stage of medication or several weeks after stopping the medication.

2. Blood system: Leukopenia, neutropenia, neutropenia and thrombocytopenia may occur occasionally; aplastic anemia is rare.

3. Allergic reactions: rash, itching, urticaria, angioedema and serum sickness reaction may be seen occasionally. There are rare reports of epidermal excoriation, bullous dermatitis, erythema multiforme and SJ syndrome.

4. There are occasional reports of jaundice caused by the use of this product.

5. Rapid infusion of this product may cause hypotension, electrocardiogram changes, or even cardiac and respiratory arrest.

6. Intravenous administration may cause thrombophlebitis.

Taboo

It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to lincomycin and clindamycin. This product contains benzoic acid and is prohibited for intramuscular injection in children.

Precautions

1. If you are allergic to this product, you may also be allergic to clindamycin.

2. Interference with diagnosis: Serum alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase may increase after taking the medicine.

3. Use with caution in the following situations:

(1) Patients with intestinal diseases or a history of such diseases, especially ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis or antibiotic-induced enteritis (this product may cause pseudomembranous enteritis).

(2) Decreased liver function.

(3) Severe renal impairment.

4. Pay close attention to the frequency of bowel movements during medication. If the frequency of bowel movements increases, pay attention to the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis and stop the medication in time and take appropriate measures.

5. To prevent the occurrence of acute rheumatic fever, the course of treatment for hemolytic streptococcal infection with this type of drug should be at least 10 days.

6. In the treatment of pseudomembranous colitis caused by this product, mild patients may recover after stopping the drug, while moderate to severe patients need to correct water and electrolyte disorders. If the condition does not improve significantly after the above treatment, metronidazole 250-500 mg should be taken orally 3 times a day. If the disease relapses, oral metronidazole can be used again and it may still be effective. If it is still ineffective, oral vancomycin (or norvancomycin) can be used instead. Adults can take 0.5 to 2.0 g per day, divided into 3 to 4 times.

7. Occasionally, it may lead to over-reproduction of insensitive microorganisms or cause superinfection. Once superinfection occurs, appropriate measures must be taken.

8. Use with caution if you have a history of asthma or other allergies.

9. Patients who are on long-term treatment need to have their liver and kidney functions and blood routine checked regularly.
