Central disc herniation

Central disc herniation

Central disc herniation is actually a type of lumbar disc herniation. There is nothing special about the clinical manifestations of this disease. When taking a CT scan, you will find that there is some protrusion in the middle of the lumbar disc. When encountering this type of lumbar disc herniation, the patient will experience more obvious pain, and some patients may even be affected in their daily standing and walking due to compression of the sciatic nerve.

Lumbar disc herniation is a common chronic disease of the orthopedic system and a degenerative change of the bones and joints. It is recommended that patients undergo timely X-ray examination to clarify the degree and type of herniation. Generally, lumbar disc herniation is clinically divided into central and peripheral types, mainly based on the location of the herniation in the patient. There are some differences in treatment. The typical symptom of central lumbar disc herniation is lower back pain, and some patients also have leg pain.

In central lumbar disc herniation, the patient's intervertebral disc protrudes backward in the middle part, and the patient will experience more obvious pain. In some patients, if the protruding intervertebral disc compresses the sciatic nerve, it will also cause leg pain and numbness.

Patients with lumbar disc herniation should pay attention to adhering to a comprehensive treatment plan during routine treatment, which should be a combination of drug therapy and physical therapy. Drug therapy can help patients effectively relieve pain. Physical therapy mainly includes lumbar traction, medium frequency, microwave, etc.

The treatment of lumbar disc herniation also requires patients to be able to perform some self-exercises, mainly the training of the lumbar and back muscles. Patients are required to persist in training muscle strength to prevent lumbar disc herniation and relieve pain. It is hoped that patients can persist.

Note:

Lumbar disc herniation is a chronic disease, which often takes a long time to treat. Patients should be mentally prepared. It is recommended to make timely adjustments. I wish you good health. Thank you.
