How to remove the odor from plastic cups

Good plastic cups, or clean plastic cups, generally have no odor, but some cups produce odor for various reasons and cannot be used. However, you can remove the odor from plastic cups by using methods such as salt water deodorization, milk deodorization, orange peel deodorization, tea deodorization, white vinegar deodorization, and mustard deodorization. If the above methods are ineffective, then this cup can be thrown away!

1. Salt water deodorization method

First clean the inside of the cup with detergent, then pour diluted salt water into the cup, shake it evenly, let it stand for two hours, and finally clean the inside of the cup.

2. Milk deodorization method

First, clean the cup with detergent, then pour two tablespoons of fresh milk into the cup, tighten the cup lid, shake it evenly for one minute, and finally pour out the milk and clean the cup.

3. Orange peel deodorization method

First, clean the inside of the cup with detergent, then put fresh orange peel (or lemon slices) into the cup, tighten the lid, leave it for about four hours, and finally clean the inside of the cup.

4. Tea deodorization method

First clean the cup with detergent, then put the tea leaves into the cup and add boiling water, tighten the cup lid, leave it for about four hours, and finally clean the cup.

For a newly bought teacup, use tea leaves to brew tea for half a day or a whole day, then brush it clean, scrub it with used tea leaves, rinse it with clean water, and the fishy smell will be gone.

5. White vinegar deodorization method

First clean the inside of the cup with detergent, then add boiling water and white vinegar to clean it. This can remove odors and scale at the same time. Finally, clean the inside of the cup.

6. Use mustard to remove odor from cups

Dilute the mustard noodles with an appropriate amount of water, pour it into a cup, use a long-handled brush to scrub it up and down in the bottle, then rinse it with clean water. The effect will be better if you pour the mustard solution into a cup and soak it for a few hours before scrubbing.

If the above methods cannot remove the odor of the plastic cup, and the cup emits a strong pungent odor when hot water is poured into it, consider not drinking water from this cup. The plastic material of the cup may be poor, and drinking water from it may be harmful to your health. It is safer to give up it and replace it with another cup.
