What are the risk factors for breast cancer

The incidence of breast cancer is increasing year by year, posing a serious threat to women's health. So what factors may induce the occurrence of breast cancer?

Genetic factors: The occurrence of breast cancer is related to genetic factors. If there is a breast cancer patient in the direct family, the risk of breast cancer is 2 to 3 times that of the normal population. The risk is related to the age of onset of breast cancer in the family members and whether it is unilateral or bilateral.

Hormonal effects: Breast receptors are affected by a variety of endocrine hormones to maintain breast growth, development and milk secretion. The occurrence of breast cancer is also related to hormones. Long-term use of estrogen during menopause may increase the risk of breast cancer. For women whose ovaries have not been removed, if the total amount of estrogen used is more than 1500 mg, the risk of breast cancer is 2.5 times that of non-users.

Reproductive factors: The patient's reproductive factors are also closely related to the occurrence of breast cancer, especially the age of first full-term birth. The incidence of breast cancer in women who give birth to their first full-term baby before the age of 20 is only 1/3 of that in women who give birth to their first full-term baby after the age of 30. The risk gradually increases with the delay of the age of first birth. Breastfeeding can reduce the risk of breast cancer, and the total duration of breastfeeding is negatively correlated with the risk of breast cancer.

Eating habits: It is generally believed that one-third of human malignant tumors are related to diet. For example, a fatty diet can change the endocrine environment, enhance or prolong the stimulation of estrogen on breast epithelial cells and increase the risk of breast cancer.

There are also some other predisposing factors, such as ionizing radiation from breast radiation, emotional factors, etc. Some people also believe that benign breast diseases can increase the risk of breast cancer.
