In daily life, we often hear the word jealous. Usually, when people say jealous, they don’t mean the eyes are physically red, but a psychological state of the person. For example, when some people see that others have good things, they will feel jealous. At this time, the word jealous can be used to describe the psychological state of this person. What does jealousy mean specifically? What does red eyes mean? 1. When seeing others become famous, wealthy or have good things, one becomes very envious and jealous and wants to have them too: seeing the elder brother buy a new car, the younger brother feels a little ~. 2. The look of anger: when enemies meet, they are particularly angry. In life, jealousy means envying others. If you are too jealous of others, you will become dissatisfied with your own life, or jealous of other people's kindness, and in the end you will be very unhappy. So it is meaningless to be jealous of others, because people cannot be compared with each other. The only thing that matters is to compare yourself with yourself to see if you have made any progress. Common forms Reticular conjunctival hyperemia Individual dilated blood vessels can be seen in the palpebral conjunctiva, crisscrossing into a network. The conjunctiva is still transparent, so the Meibomian glands can still be seen through the conjunctiva. This is simple congestion without tissue changes, which generally indicates that the inflammation is mild or the disease course is short. Diffuse conjunctival hyperemia The conjunctiva is uniformly red, the blood vessels are unclear, the conjunctiva is thickened and has enlarged papillae. The Meibomian glands could not be visualized due to thickening of the conjunctiva. Hypertrophy of the papillae makes the conjunctival surface rough, uneven, dull and velvety. This type of congestion indicates that the inflammation is more severe or lasting; it may be accompanied by tissue infiltration, edema, proliferation, or degeneration. Conjunctival hyperemia Congestion of the posterior conjunctival artery (and vein). Its characteristics are obvious congestion of the bulbar conjunctiva near the dome, which becomes lighter as it approaches the corneal margin. The blood vessels are bright red like tree branches, and they move when the conjunctiva is pushed. Conjunctival hyperemia is common in acute or chronic conjunctivitis. Ciliary hyperemia The anterior conjunctival artery (and vein) is congested. The hyperemic band surrounds the cornea, about 3 to 4 mm, and the outer edge of the hyperemic band gradually disappears, showing the normal sclera color. Blood vessels are divided into two layers, deep and shallow, so they have two different appearances. Superficial blood vessels are congested and appear bright red, and may move with the conjunctiva, indicating superficial corneal lesions. The deep blood vessels are congested and appear rose-red and do not move with the conjunctiva, indicating deep corneal lesions, irido-ciliary body lesions, and glaucoma. In severe cases, both layers may be congested at the same time. Mixed congestion It is a manifestation of simultaneous presence of conjunctival hyperemia and ciliary hyperemia. Severe conjunctivitis may extend to the corneal limbus and present as mild ciliary congestion. Similarly, severe iridocyclitis or stromal keratitis may be accompanied by conjunctival congestion in addition to obvious ciliary congestion. Subconjunctival hemorrhage It is caused by rupture of subconjunctival blood vessels or parabulbar or retrobulbar bleeding into the conjunctival sac. It appears as a uniform red flake with no visible vascular patterns. It can be seen in: acute conjunctivitis, systemic vascular diseases, systemic blood diseases, ocular trauma, orbital wall or skull base fractures, obstruction of venous return in the head, local vascular abnormalities, petechial hemorrhages caused by acute fever, and menstruation, etc. |
