The hazards of bathing in a plastic tub

Plastic bathtubs are not suitable for bathing because the temperature of the bath is relatively high, so the plastic can easily degrade into toxic substances. Generally speaking, wooden barrels are more suitable for bathing. They are not as toxic as plastic barrels and are more resistant to high temperatures. Although plastic is relatively stable, it is flammable. If you are not careful, there will be harm. As time goes by, plastic bathtubs tend to age and are not easy to preserve.

When taking a bath, if the water temperature is too high, it will cause the plastic to decompose and release toxic components, such as benzene. It is best to use wooden barrels or ceramic products.

Characteristics of plastics:

1. Most plastics are lightweight, chemically stable, and will not rust;

2. Good impact resistance; but poor dimensional stability and easy to deform;

3. Good transparency and abrasion resistance;

4. Good insulation and low thermal conductivity;

5. Most plastics have poor heat resistance, large thermal expansion rate, and are easy to burn;

6. Most plastics have poor low-temperature resistance, become brittle at low temperatures, and are prone to aging; some plastics are easily soluble in solvents.

If the water is too hot, some chemicals will precipitate from the plastic bucket when heated. Although the surface of the plastic looks smooth, it actually has many gaps that can easily harbor dirt and stains, making the bath water dirty. If the plastic bucket at home is not produced in a formal manner and contains toxic chemicals, these toxic substances will be analyzed and mixed into the water, and then stick to the skin, which may cause the skin to deteriorate. It may not have any effect, but it will definitely not moisturize the skin, so it is better not to take a bath in a plastic bucket.
