Thoracic vertebra hyperplasia causes back pain

Thoracic vertebra hyperplasia causes back pain

Thoracic spondylosis refers to the hyperplasia of thoracic vertebrae bones. After the disease occurs, symptoms such as pain, chest tightness, and shortness of breath will occur, which seriously affect the normal function of the thoracic spine. The phenomenon of back pain caused by thoracic vertebra hyperplasia is also very common, which is often unbearable for patients. When this happens, you must go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination in time, find out the situation, treat it symptomatically, and avoid continued harm.

1. Non-surgical treatment

(1) Rest: Depending on the severity of the disease, you can choose to rest in bed, have general rest, or limit your activity.

(2) Orthopedic massage and physical therapy: can promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, dredge meridians, and regulate tendons.

(3) Drug treatment: You can apply bone plasters externally. Ancient medical plasters can promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, relax muscles and tendons, and relieve inflammation and pain. It can achieve the purpose of treating both the symptoms and the root cause. During the treatment, you should keep warm and eat a balanced diet.

(4) Acupuncture treatment: This is one of the treatment methods for bone hyperplasia. Acupuncture can promote blood circulation and relieve pain, and can eliminate local edema and inflammation. However, for bone hyperplasia, acupuncture can only play an auxiliary role.

(5) Direct current drug ion introduction therapy: Experts say that drug ions enter the skin through the pores at the opening of the sweat gland ducts, or enter the mucosal tissue through the mucosal and epithelial cell gaps. However, the introduced drugs are volatile and the efficacy is not long-lasting, which limits the therapeutic effect.

(6) Blockade therapy: Blockade therapy is to use a syringe to inject analgesics into the painful area to relieve local pain and achieve the purpose of treatment. Blockade therapy can relieve pain and discomfort, but has no therapeutic effect on bone hyperplasia itself.

2. Surgical treatment:

Surgery is not the first choice for lumbar spondylosis. When conservative treatment is ineffective and the condition is severe and seriously affects the patient's life, surgical treatment may be considered.

Prevention of thoracic vertebrae bone hyperplasia

① Exercise appropriately. Regular exercise keeps each joint with a larger range of motion, so that the articular cartilage is evenly stressed and does not soften. On the contrary, people who do not insist on exercising will have limited force on their joint cartilage and aggravate damage, which can easily cause arthritis; regular exercise can make muscles and ligaments strong, stabilize the joints, and increase the firmness of bones; regular exercise can make the joints continuously secrete synovial fluid, which has a nutritional effect on the joints and can delay aging.

②Avoid excessive fatigue and incorrect posture. For example, people who do mental work are more likely to suffer from cervical vertebra hyperplasia because they work with their heads down for a long time, which puts too much load on the cervical spine; while people who do physical labor, such as porters and athletes, are more likely to suffer from lumbar vertebra hyperplasia. Carpenters and fitters are more likely to suffer from elbow hyperplasia. Obese people are more prone to bone hyperplasia.

③Avoid too strenuous activities. Because the human body tends to over-stretch the ligaments attached to the edge of the vertebral bone and the joint capsule on the facet joint process when it moves, the constant stretching and repeated stimulation of the periosteum there will cause bone hyperplasia at the edge of the vertebral body and facet joints.
