In recent years, the country has been vigorously controlling the use of coal, so the number of cases of gas poisoning among the people has become less and less. Even so, many places and families are still using gas. There are many precautions for the use of gas. If it is used improperly, it may lead to gas poisoning. Gas poisoning is very harmful, for example, it may cause death. So which gas in the gas is harmful to the human body? Which gas in the gas causes gas poisoning? Gas poisoning may be carbon monoxide poisoning caused by lack of oxygen. The patient should be moved to a place with good ventilation, but must be kept warm, avoid catching cold, and not be naked. Patients with mild symptoms can slowly recover by leaving the toxic environment. Oxygen supply is very important because the higher the concentration of inspired oxygen, the more carbon monoxide is separated from the blood and the faster it is excreted. Studies have shown that it takes 200 minutes for the carbon monoxide level in the blood to be reduced to half indoors, and 40 minutes when breathing pure oxygen. Therefore, the use of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is the most effective method for treating carbon monoxide poisoning. If the patient is placed in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber with a pressure of 2 to 2.5 atmospheres, after 30 to 60 minutes, the carboxyhemoglobin in the blood can be reduced to 0, and no heart damage will occur. In places where there is generally no carbon dioxide supply or hyperbaric oxygen chamber, for cases of dyspnea, mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration can be performed intermittently while applying artificial respiration and oxygen. In addition, cardiotonic drugs, respiratory stimulants, infusions, blood transfusions, treatment of shock, cerebral edema and anti-infection are all very important. Artificial hibernation cooling therapy also has certain effects. Once a person inhales carbon monoxide, oxygen loses the opportunity to combine with hemoglobin, making it impossible for tissue cells to obtain enough oxygen from the blood, resulting in difficulty breathing. Gas poisoning in the household mainly refers to carbon monoxide poisoning, liquefied petroleum gas, pipeline gas, and natural gas poisoning. The former is more common in winter when coal stoves are used for heating, doors and windows are closed, and smoke exhaust is poor. The latter is common in leaking liquefied petroleum stoves or gas pipelines. When patients are poisoned by gas, they initially feel headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and weakness. When they realize they are poisoned, they often struggle to get out of bed to open doors and windows, but usually only a few people can open the doors. Most patients quickly develop convulsions and coma, and the skin on their cheeks, chests and lips turns cherry red. If not treated in time, they may quickly suffer from respiratory depression and die. Therefore, the main gas that causes gas poisoning is carbon monoxide. The ability of hemoglobin in the blood to bind carbon monoxide is more than 200 times stronger than its ability to bind oxygen. Moreover, the separation rate of hemoglobin and oxygen is very slow. Therefore, once a person inhales carbon monoxide, oxygen loses the opportunity to combine with hemoglobin, making it impossible for tissue cells to obtain enough oxygen from the blood, resulting in difficulty breathing, rapid convulsions, coma, and cherry red skin on the cheeks, chest and lips. If not treated in time, respiratory depression and death may soon occur. Therefore, the lack of carbon monoxide will cause gas poisoning. It is recommended that: 1. Check whether the heating method in winter is correct, whether the gas pipeline is unobstructed, whether the indoor ventilation is good, etc. 2. Try not to use coal stoves for heating. If you use them, you must abide by the coal stove heating rules and do not be careless. 3. If you smell gas after entering the room, you should quickly open the doors and windows, and check for gas leaks or coal stoves in the room. Never light a fire. 4. After using the gas switch, wash your hands with soap and rinse with running water. Install an exhaust fan or range hood in the kitchen. |
